I saw that at the Equip Expo, it looked super well made and versatile! Great review!
Ответитьloved this and very fun. we love our Ridgeline too
ОтветитьShanks for the video… always a learning experience at TTWT.
ОтветитьTim if you had a little bit of weight back of that Gator probably would pull in two-wheel drive thanks for Gary
ОтветитьI have a 90 HP Polaris Sportsman XP1000. I wonder how it would pull it. 🤔
ОтветитьI know id like to find a used frontier mulch finisher, to bad they discontinued them, i mean there are other brands that still make them.
ОтветитьI can't tell you how many pounds of rocks we have taken out of the garden area. I guess it's because we live in Missouri. It is ridiculous and some of them are bigger than your fist. The soil i put the fall leaves in it to be tilled in the spring.
ОтветитьNice soil prep for tilling!
ОтветитьYou want to be careful when using street tires for tractor level of pulling, I used my Dodge 3500 in 4 low and granny gear to move a cargo container, when pulling it's hardest we heard a loud pop sound, and thought we had broken something in the driveline, nothing evident happened. However months later, my tire exploded, from a slipped belt. I believe the belt was the loud pop we heard with no obvious broken parts. Street tires aren't meant for that kind of pulling.
Ответить👍👍
ОтветитьThis was a fun video. The Ridgeline did much better than I thought it would. I laughed when Tim mentioned how he questioned the salesperson regarding the various traction modes. As a retired mechanical engineer, I've never been able to get a technical question answered by a salesperson in a way that made any sense, LOL.
ОтветитьEnjoyable video Tim. The chisel plow works great and is a worthwhile attachment to have. Thanks for showing it off.
ОтветитьWe'd be interested in the Solectrac if you still have it.
ОтветитьReminds me of olden days when one farmer had a single point sub spoiler and brought it to plowing matches. You get enough guys on that thing and he could bury most tractors under 100 hp ( which was most tractors back then). Fun times, nobody got hurt but pride of different coloured tractor owners. 😂
ОтветитьI had one of these. Just didn't work in our soil. Not enough weight to dig.
ОтветитьHonda ridgeline pulls a 5 shank like 4ft wide chisel through dirt. I'll raise you 1 2008 chev 3/4 ton diesel pulling 10ft of cultivator through hard pack gravel. It was not supposed to but it did happen.
ОтветитьAnd the ridgeline will float during a high water crossing. Don’t ask how I know….
ОтветитьWeight in the back of the Ridgeline and Gator would have helped with their traction. Interesting video.
ОтветитьThe weight of the vehicle pulling makes a lot of the difference. I think Dave in the bed of the gator would have helped the gator. That was fun. Nice little attachment.
Ответитьi think the ventrac would be good at pulling it
ОтветитьSince the Ridgeline has succeeded in triggering pickup guys it is now time to cause confusion and second guessing with tractor guys.
ОтветитьSo, we can deduce that the “coolness factor” is inversely proportional to age….or, vice versa. Depends on your perspective. Blessings.
Ответитьi would like to try in a 3 point configment
ОтветитьYou made me laugh.
ОтветитьHad a friend that owned a Ridgeline, said he could not afford the gas in it in the colder months.
Seems the gas mileage would cut in half when the weather turned colder.
I got unsubscribed awhile back. Tim isn’t kidding. You want to check!
ОтветитьThe 4 modes change the throttle response, transmission gear selection, and traction control parameters for those surfaces.
ОтветитьWe finally saw in action what I think we always knew. Tim is most functional as ballast! 😂
ОтветитьGreat video reminds me of the old Chevy ads a one ton with A 454 pulling a turning plow
ОтветитьDo you think duals with some weight in them would make a diffrence with the 1025r...thats what we would do to our 1206 and 1256 back in the day.
ОтветитьHey Tim I have been watching your videos for about 9 years or so I finally ordered me a 1025R with a MMM and a set of forks also ordered the 322 grapple from agfolks impatiently waiting for it all to be delivered this is my 50th birthday present to myself
ОтветитьIt is comfy due to not really being a truck. The Ridgeline is an SUV.
ОтветитьHow many pulls did you make with the ATV? My experience is that they tend to overheat when worked that hard for any length of time as compared to a tractor which will run all day at full pull capability.
ОтветитьSquirrels! They ate a fuel line and the wiring on a few of my vehicles. Apparently some of the plastic coatings used are made from soybeans. Had the fuel line replaced with a hardline and the wiring armor wrapped. Stupid Indiana squirrels!
ОтветитьTim you should try it behind viny
ОтветитьGreat video!
ОтветитьI think you might wreck your transmission in the gator if you keep pulling that plough, I've seen it happen!👍
ОтветитьI WORK IN A DEALERSHIP THAT SELLS HONDA AND I COULDNT HELP BUT SHOW THIS TO ONE OF THE SALESMAN
ОтветитьGot Ventrac?!
Personally, I would have loved to have seen your chisel plow tested behind Johnny's cousin Vinny 😊 Fun Vid Tim!
My thoughts on your testing is needed more weight on the pulling vehicle. More weight equals more traction. And of course lower tire pressures so you have a better contact patch.
And for the truck pulling I would be worried you might pull the implement apart. But I also want to figure a use the five shanks wider apart so you clear your tracks. 😮 shine on
When it comes to the various driveline settings on the Honda it has a lot to do with the conditions the vehicle is being operated under and how the vehicle reacts to wheel slippage when it's detected. For example, when Snow is selected, the throttle response will be delayed and if wheel spin is detected when starting out the system will not only decrease the regular throttle opening, it will also shift the transmission into second gear reducing the torque applied to all of the wheels. The stability control system will also react to understeer or oversteer more aggressively than it does in the normal setting. When Mud is selected it will minimize the traction control system operation in order to allow more wheel spin to help clear the mud from the tires. When sand is selected it will do the opposite and aggressively reduce wheel slippage by changing the throttle mapping and rear differential commands.
ОтветитьDeduction for the cool factor? Those Ridgelines are cool...a different take on pickups that are actually very handy.
Very cool to see the differences between the three.
Looks like to me you are sub soiling with it. I grew up onewaying, chisel and then with 8 inch sweeps. Then we would switch to a Miller bar to make a smooth planting bed for wheat
ОтветитьI have a Polaris 550 sportsman touring that honestly probably would handle 3 shanks quite well. I have a video of it pulling a (old style but actually home built by the owner) 6ft horse drawn disk like it wasn’t even there. Granted that atv is about as close to a utv in weight and power as I’ve seen. It’s about 1200 lbs with an operator and 42 hp. Utility atvs are way better at pulling or pushing than most give them credit for. I stopped counting how many times I’ve used that machine to pull someone out of a snowbank or a drift. It’s better at that than most trucks I’ve seen just because of how much more maneuverable it is plus your not as worried about getting yourself stuck cause if you do just hook up the winch and you’re free
ОтветитьI hav a car have snow mode on it I noticed it takes off slower wen u have it in snow mode.
ОтветитьTruck Time with Tim?
ОтветитьThe wet grass is too much for the highway-tread tires; it is not too much for the vehicle.
Also, seeing that you have a million dollars worth of equipment, maybe you could just get a set of ag-wheels/tires for the little tractor. You could just change them out on that little tractor like rich people do for winter.
I really used to like these tractor time videos. But I’ve come to realize that unless you’re a millionaire all these tractors and equipment are out of reality/reach for us average Joes.
Hey, maybe once your new shop is in, you can change the name of the channel to,
“Tractor time with Tim: for those rich people who have money to throw away and/or burn.”
R4 do not dig at all If you want traction try R1 tires
ОтветитьIf you put good tires on that truck or mud tires it would have no problems
Ответить
