I was hoping they wouldn't put up my favorite local spots! Don't want the wait times going up any more😂😂
ОтветитьImagine driving passed Canter's only to pull into Norm's instead. YIKES... Heart goes out to anyone who was stuck on that crew and had their day ruined.
ОтветитьAs a Brit i would love to try these diners, but one cup of coffee will do :)
Ответитьis he from boston?
ОтветитьThe way Joe holds his fork is a crime
ОтветитьGosh, I remember eating like this 20 years ago. Rock on gents, rock on.
ОтветитьHave had English breakfasts but still love American diner breakfasts! I'm definitely ham & eggs with hash browns gal❤
As a former CA gal, I've loved traveling around the US & eating at many local diner/cafe's for breakfast - each region has its specialties & nothing really beats Country Ham in the south!
At first I was like "$20 for a damn ham and hash brown?!!" Then i remembered Los Angeles.
ОтветитьNorm's is great. Try the Pantry in downtown L.A., the Coral Cafe in Burbank, Russell's in Pasadena, LeRoy's in Arcadia...
ОтветитьSpoons do unlimited coffee/Tea in the UK.
ОтветитьThey tried all night diners in UK they just get trashed by chavs and junkies.
ОтветитьThese food tours are great. I love how Harry is slowly being “Americanized.” This time around he didn’t need to pace himself. 🥞 🍳 👏 😋
ОтветитьShrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday. The "shrove" part refers to confession (see definition of "shrive"). Churches typically wouldn't offer confessions for the first few weeks of Lent, so you would go to have the priest hear your confession while the sacrament was available. The pancake angle comes from an old custom the Church no longer practices, but has remained as a tradition. Traditionally, you were not allowed to cook with butter, tallow, oil, shortening, or any other fat during Lent, so on Shrove Tuesday you would finish off all the fat you had in your pantry, and one way to use it all up was to eat lots of pancakes.
ОтветитьA1 invented in Britain folks!
ОтветитьIf it's longer it doesn't work
Meanwhile: Cackleberry = egg
None of these places are worth the price or the headache Involved with parking / getting to the restaurant.
ОтветитьI think it’s hilarious British guy softly jabs at American taste in food. The irony.
ОтветитьOmg Philippe does amazing breakfast with their pork chops and a salsa to go with it. The pancakes and French Toast are great
ОтветитьFun fact - A1 sauce is british. It was made in 1824 for king george IV. It was really popular here until eventually other sauces won out. You can still get it here but its not that popular anymore
ОтветитьMeat loaf, pancakes, biscuits and gravy….. very American I love it 😍 and little Chef was great in the uk….but got to expensive for what it was in the end and they all closed 😢
ОтветитьI wish you guys can go to Japan and meet up with George.
ОтветитьAlways makes my skin crawl seeing the way Americans use a knife and fork. It's so wrong it's really disturbing. My dad in Australia would've stuck his fork in the back of my hand if I ate like that.
Ответить35 dollars for steak and eggs. This place is a rip off.
ОтветитьThat's not quite the same as "Cops buy local bakery to keep their supply of donuts going" (Clare, Michigan) but still sounds like a cool story.
ОтветитьThe last time I was in the UK my friends had me try all the bagged snacks (like monster much and pork scratchings) at the pub and they called THAT British tapas lol
I’m in LA and tbh so many of these breakfast meats looked dry AF. I think you’re right that we have a specific “breakfast sausage” flavor profile whereas they have more of a standard savory sausage that’s agnostic of time of day
Norms prices are incredible tbh nice to see they’ve kept things as low as they can
Really norms wtf
ОтветитьNorms over Harrys??? I mean, sure? But glad you enjoyed the vibes, great memories at both
ОтветитьWhy does the american guy use his knife and fork like that? lol. Good show!
ОтветитьI have a canteen institution too
Ответитьsteaks for breakfast? damn
ОтветитьNorms? Really?!
ОтветитьYou are making me hungry, and I'm on a diet trying to loose weight (for health reasons). Food looks delicious !
ОтветитьThe amount of time Harry says "Mm-hmm"
ОтветитьAnd they didn't go to the Original Pantry ?! Or Mel's Diner ?
ОтветитьDiner data Bisket Shooter- waitress
ОтветитьI remember Happy Eater - the Little Chef precursor. It was great as a kid and cheap for families- and they had a jungle gym sorta thing- which was always wet of course.
ОтветитьNow this is something I can get behind!
ОтветитьACAB. So I wouldn’t go to Nicks
ОтветитьSomeone tell me why it’s these two, are they a part of food insider? Are they on on going duo?
Ответить"I think the word is a roux." -- food expert Joe Avella
ОтветитьWe know he is in to the huevos rancheros amd the home madr salsa jajajajaja he goes ummhuu ummhuuu jajaja
ОтветитьNorm's has serious Pulp Fiction vibes - but it wasn't the filming location, as that diner (Hollys) was demolished.
ОтветитьI love this series. Their banter and personality is somewhat unrelatable, but their reactions and assessments are so honest and unpretentious. It's like watching two aliens in human suits to survey our Earth, and they've determined their approach to start by going on a food tour in Los Angeles.
ОтветитьCould have chose 2 better people these 2 are unbearable.
ОтветитьCall me crazy but I refuse to stand in line for food. It’s one thing if I’m starving, but to pay money to stand and wait is crazy to me.
ОтветитьAmerican guy is unbearable
ОтветитьSkip any steak for breakfast at Norms. Not good at all
ОтветитьWhat you did with that bacon is just…wrong.
ОтветитьBrighton Coffee Shop in Beverly Hills
ОтветитьHow tf did House of Pies not make it in here
