Yes they still do it. As a PIMO I witnessed it just yesterday at an assembly I had to to go to because of my super PIMI wife I dearly love.
All you say, I witnessed similar through my 62 years of my life. So many, as you said "golden children" or "super spiritual families" who here presented as outshining examples at the platform ended up splitting leaving the so called "TRUTH". Years ago already I considered everyone (even speakers or circuit overseers) on the platform as a potentially future apostate 😁🤭 ....that makes those assembly's bearable.

I was that little girl, on stage and doing the same thing. I just wanted to make my parents proud but I was doing it all out of the fear of dying and never reaching paradise. That changes a child’s mental

Your perspective on disliking the feeling of being the “golden boy” on stage is interesting. I understand you and can see that. Sometimes those specific thoughts make the org seems so strange because it’s something that hard to convey fully to others who have not been within.

Just think how many things are factors of how you could go do that speech. They make you think you are doing the “right thing “ and “setting a good example” (making other people “your responsibility” when in reality it isn’t.) They scare you about NOT doing it, so you then feel even more forced! Your parents also add to the guilt/over responsibility feelings that were put to you! I bet your grandpa knows it was a setup from Watchtower. I’m so glad you’re out and really hope you DO pursue your music! I’m a helluva lot older than you are…but I was raised up as a JW, I didn’t know anything else, but when I was a teenager, I started slowly questioning things to myself. A lot (MOST) of the things that I was being taught just felt very wrong from a place deep inside of me. This questioning turned into covert research, and by the time I was 18, I had the answers that I’d been searching for, and I realized that I was in a cult and had been very heavily brainwashed…and that made me angry. So at 18 years of age, I walked away from the JW cult and from my parents and everyone I knew. I moved eleven hundred miles from my home state because I wanted to start fresh where nobody knew me. Eventually my parents woke up and realized that they’d been brainwashed too, and they left the JW cult as well. I left 41 years ago, never looked back and have never been happier! CONGRATULATIONS on your waking up and getting out of that mess. I wish you all the best with every endeavor…especially with your music.😊

Hey there Noah.. I'm from Australia. I know what you are thinking. Like me for many years you felt that things in JW world just dont add up. It's as simple as that. But there is no one to talk to about this because if you do, you become "marked" as undesirable association.And yeah in the JW world, the constant message is that the ONLY worthwhile activity anyone can pursue is to be a full time preacher (pioneer) or auxiliary pioneer and to support yourself with a part time job. Any other career path is considered a waste of time. Certainly doing higher education is discouraged in varying ways but the irony for me was that many of the most seemingly devout JWs I knew made sure their kids went to uni to get decent jobs. And so many contradictory statements over the years about how the leadership say they are not "inspired" by God yet at the same time claim that God guides them to write & teach "truths" to the flock at the proper time. So old "truths" are discarded and now considered false and replaced with "new light" of which many of these too will be later discarded. I concluded that the JW leadership actually don't know anything and all they are doing is speculating whilst appointing themselves as the authority having sole & exclusive possession of "the truth". I eventually concluded.. "this just dont add up!!"

In 1988 I was 27 an a Agnostic, then Jehovah Witnesses knocked on my door and my big 30 yo sister a Atheist said ,, Justin don't invite them in ,they are a cult !!! ,, I ignored her and invited them in for coffee and accepted a Bible study . 30 years later 2018 aged 57 and 4 years pimo ,I related my experience in a Watchtower study at the hall ,the elders called me in the back school after ,and said your answers have nothing to do with the Watchtower study .My big sister and me were best friends until Watchtower put a wedge in our relationship. My big sister suicided in 1994 aged 36 because I wasn't there for her .I,m now 63 and I dissociated in 2018 aged 57 ,after diligently studying apostate videos for 4 years 2014 -2018 and beware young brother the Apostates may be telling the truth ❤

I escaped the cult back in 1993, I had enough of the lies, the one rule for one, one for another. absolutely every thing.
I'm so glad to have left, I just hated going, I kept it up to keep me mother. I seen so much things that went on and loads were getting away with it. A elder was a*using his daughter and his wife stuck by him, nothing was done with her just him, that to me was the wake up call I needed to go and not look back. I didn't get baptized just went to the meetings.

Keep sharing your journey you are helping many others by what you are doing. Cults take control of your mind and you end up diminishing yourself for the good of the group. In reality the members are working for the benefit of the few at the top.

Noah, thank you for this video. I recently left a couple years ago and explained a huge part of my reason was similar to something you mention... I was suicidal most of my childhood and adult like. I didn't realize it was due to the pressure of the cult until I had to explain it to my siblings. I've never heard anyone else struggle with this also. So I just appreciate your opening up about your journey. Thank you 🙏🏽

I'm so proud of you. I can really see the progress you're making. It's been 20 years for me since I've been out and I just started watching videos of others experiences. As I do, I feel stronger each day and more assured that I made the right decision. We are all with you in your journey. "Never give up! Never surrender!"🥰

Its class that your doing music now and you don't have to apologise about giving that experience. I remember being at assemblies feeling low listening to the experiences thinking why am I not like that but now I know the people giving those experiences are the same it brings a lot of comfort to me. all of us are just trying to be accepted..to survive. i used to be one of those kids in the audience being told why won't you pioneer, it stopped when i pushed back with "every pioneer in our congregation is depressed" and "why don't you be an example and do it" (clear signs that i was cracking, i was the golden child too). there is so much guilt and grief we have to manage, just trying to get our basic self-esteem needs met. you might not be able to talk to her, but have you maybe tried writing her a letter if you wanted that closure on your end? i'm sure she's forgiven you, and hold onto the knowledge that your grandparents have always seen YOU and loved you UNCONDITIONALLY. keep talking it out, we hear you loud and clear.

Noah, I pray for your peace and joy in life. God loves you, for you. He in no way is directing the JW Foundation , that is lies made up by them through Satan. We are warned about these things in Gods original word. Russell and others in the organization have rewritten His word to suit their own greedy needs. As an ex myself I feel really bad for the ones that are still in there, especially those who have been in there since little children. They have been brainwashed by Satan's angels !!! I pray for them often that they will learn the real truth about Gods love for his children. Don't, please don't allow them to cause you to doubt Gods real love for you as an individual. I encourage you to read the book of John in the original KJV Bible. And always remember John 3:16. God doesn't wish for any of us to perish and the Bible tells us that He will teach us. I can't remember the book where Jesus said this, but He was sending His disciples out to preach in different places and He said " Do not go door to door. God also gives out gifts of various types so consider your musical inclination as a gift from God.
I will pray for you to learn the real truth and to not completely push God and His Son out of Your life.
