My uncle told me a story that when he worked for Peugeot uk in the mid 80s,they had the current seasons rally car ,that was full competion spec and ...it was on display in a surrey showroom(dealership of year or something)..they got a phone call from Peugeot (france)they needed the car at canne (south of france)pronto for 8am..
Full wings front and rear..it did have a button to turn it down to a mere 400 bhp.. It was delivered with 20 minutes to spare . .but the driver was arrested as he entered the harbour in canne..average speed 113mph..the guy in the passenger seat said we passed traffic at 4am on the autoroute like they were parked up for the night..
