Nidalee has been updated in every single way EXCEPT her awful model || Casual Champion Review

Nidalee is good in high elo (and sometimes pro play) because she has a ton of early game pressure. Most challenger games are essentially over at 10 minutes, so early game champions are valued very highly.

Its so criminal that they released 5 legendary skin for Arcane but they cant update old champs faster. GG Riot

I get your point but there are literally dozens more who are in need of ASU because their models are so shit that any new epic skin they get is so underwhelming, it's insulting how Riot can easily fund more ASU but just choose not to.

In my honest opinion her best skin would have to be Bewitching, it just feels cleaner to play as.
For the gooner gang it would be French Maid.

Just wait for Ixtal season in league where they'll just add a new jungle champion and will rework Zyra instead of Nidalee :(

Hearing that nidalee was redesigned in LoR and then seeing it in league…I only barely didn’t have the same reaction that I did with Janna.

But only barely. It was still the same kind of reaction.

Just wait for the second Ixtal season in 2038.

When the slightest change these days makes people more butt-hurt than Bellucci in Irreversible and still they pick the alternate design over the original... yeah, that's something alright.

Nidalee became a really good pro play pick because she'd first clear really really fast and then would basically be an auto instawin in any 2v1 or 2v2 fight if she hits a decent spear, which if you played her with the classic combos like Renek was easy to do. She also had the advantage of being the only real jungler that could also work in a poke comp for a long time (and Poke has always been way stronger in Pro than in Soloqueue just because objective play is much more reliable). So combined she could guarentee an early lead and set you up for really obnoxious midgame objective fights and sieges. (Until she didn't win early game and then was useless for the whole match)

I feel the same way you do about Nidalee with Twitch, only instead of the visuals, it's the lore that's been the only thing left behind. They updated Twitch in all sorts of ways, his gameplay is solid, his visuals have been updated and look quite great, his VO is really funny and geniuenly underrated. And then his bio is literally shorter than Shaco, Cho'gath or Corki. He has no lore to speak of and Riot has no reason to give him one with how things run currently.
He even has a super old color story but it does not even actually feature him and was apparently more of a teaser for a cancelled champion..

Honestly after the disaster that is the Viktor rework, I’m kinda glad we haven’t seen a nidalee rework.

Remember, back in prehistoric League, a former writer at Riot self-inserted himself to be Nidalee's boyfriend to indulge both a Jungle Fever and Milf fetish.

I still think it's wrong to use this skin, regardless. Might as well use skins for the rest of the cast, most old models and designs are equally as terrible as Nidalee's

My only counterpoint is that the dance is harmless if you ask me, we have champions who are guys and also do unapologetic stripper dance, like Sylas, he's a prisioner, a mage and anarchist but when you press CTRL+3 he's just swinging chains the same way a stripper swings a shirt

I would say, those spear counts should be included when you lock Nidalee... Just to know if you actually suck at this champion or not. I know a LOT of people that did worse than Nicky there

Whenever they do wns up redesigning her tho, please riot PLEASE. Fix the weird skins where yall made her white. It is so weird that this jungle woman turns white in half of her skins.

Nidalee is popular in pro play because of her clear speed. Pros who properly know how to utilise her kit can sync/coordinate + reset her human/cougar abilities so perfectly her clear speed outpaced every jungler at the time.

The most simple explanation I ever heard of why Jayce and Nidallee are good in pro play. While most champions have 4 abilities, they have 6, which is more, which is better.

Not to mention the blatant white washing in most of her skins.

I think the reason why they use her in comp is because she has the fastres camp cleaning in the game, i dont know if i'm wrong

I don't pay attention to proplay, bur I assume the reason Nidalee would be popular is due to her kit allowing her to achieve what most of the shapeshiters do: poke then engage. Her spears have high damage, especially if building burst AP items, and her melee engage also deals high damage, especially after landing a spear due to the passive mark. The empowered dash with increased range and decreased cooldown also gives her good mobility, and her melee has good aoe for jungle clear. And this is all achieved using just her Q and R in human form, then the rest of her abilities in beast form. This leaves two ability slots which can be filled with random bonuses, which is her heal and traps. A pro player might view these as the heal providing good sustaib and early jungle clear with attack speed, whilst the traps function as additional wards by providing vision, and also allow easy engage due to them applying the passive mark. Overall, Nidalee's kit functions similarly to other shapeshifters (Elise, Jayce), but her poke only requires one ability, which does high damage and low cooldown, her engage deals easy good damage and clears jungle well, whilst her heal and traps are extra bonuses because why not. This may not be as good as other jugglers of current design (Bel'veth), but still makes her a strong contender for proplay due to her versatility and simplicity to achieve burst damage reliably.

She is a pro champ because of her strong clearing and invading plus how well she does with setup plus her utility

Only 24 spears missed? Those are rookie numbers son

I prefer base Nidalee and how sexy she is. There's enough of Riot destroying everything that is already when they rework champions like Ahri already by reducing boob or ass size or something.

I do think she needs an update but I hate that they made her yet another Vastaya. We have a lot of those and they're all lame humans with animal ears. Very weak design. Except Rengar who is actually a beast. I liked her being a more unique character: a human raised by the wild that inherits the wild's powers. And now she's another anime girl with cat ears. 😡

IMO Lee Sin or Elise is way harder to play than Nidalee, but also I'm someone who thinks Vladimir and Brand are out of the box champions whose gameplay cycle needs a special brain constitution to understand
