This is my favorite clan in the game. I love guns/cannons and I use them to great effect. My strat is just use tercos as your main line, a cannon or 2 to make enemies come to me, and 2 fire rockets for anti cav. Depending on the army i might throw in some cav like yari or dunderbuss. My damiyo usually has yari while regulars have shotguns so i dont make the mistake donkey did.
Edit: I use tercos as the mainline by combining armory and craftworks since gaining experience ups their melee stats. That way I can up their accuracy and the cannons accuracy without giving cannons a lot of armor with a blacksmith.
I usually, rather than destroy the nanban port, i build another one, and put out two nanban ships at once
ОтветитьЛучше мечников заменить на тэпо и нагинатчиков.
ОтветитьThey have the power of God AND Anime on their side.
ОтветитьHe's wrong about accuracy. Any gunpowder unit over 40 accuracy is enough. Increasing accuracy can actually hurt units over this threshold. Accuracy is good on archers and artillery, not guns. Think of ut this way. If everyone hit their target, the first guy in the enemy rank gets hit several times. If some miss, the guy behind him gets hit instead.
Ответитьhey! 👋 How to get Otomo for play?
ОтветитьMe with mods to give the Oda guns immediately after the 1st turn without going Christian: Pathetic Otomo.......
ОтветитьI have the power of guns and god on my side!
- The otomo, probably
Some advice from a casual player: Instead of destroyng the nanban trade port in bungo, cause a rebellion in the city by razing taxes and exempting buzen from taxation. When the rebels take bungo, order the cknstruction of a Nanban trade port in Buzen, and simply take Bungo back. Violla, now you have too. Ive used this tactic to have 2 Nanban quarters and a Nanban trade port at the same time.
Ответитьbungoi doesent start with nanban
Ответитьit doesent start with bungo
Ответитьthats bullshit u get attacked as the moment u upgrade naban portmits crap

When I reduce the cost for my missionary action my girlfriend left me
ОтветитьIn my play style, I make half of Japan have Christian rebellions, it's so damn fun. The economy tree is so OP when you manage your resources properly.
ОтветитьNo access to warrior monks eh?
Just ask Ikko ikki for some 😁
You could get two naban quarters by letting a enemy/rebel army take Buzen and building a second one in Bungo
ОтветитьWhen you want to play empire but are a weeb
ОтветитьWhile Shogun 2 is easily an S tier game, one thing I will never understand is why guns are so rare and often not worth going for. Like, just looking it up, Oda Nobunaga ordered 500 matchlocks for his army in -1549-. Granted, 500 is relatively small amount for an army numbering thousands, but I don't know, the rarity of guns in Shogun 2 is just bizarre to me.
ОтветитьKinda werid that the Otomo dont get other mounted gunners. They get blunderbuss but not the regular matchlock on horses

Is it possible to convert ottomo back? some people say if daymio is killed it's possible with the next daymio. I tried this but wasn't successful. is it impossible to change religion with ottomo like the other clans?
ОтветитьThis Is the best clan if you want to try gunpowder units
ОтветитьYou forgot to mention how catholic monks can literally, and I'm being exact, make EVERY region a rebellious state.
ОтветитьQuestion, what is more effective / efficient? Two trading posts with 5-5 tradeships each? Or One trading post with 10 tradeship inside it?
ОтветитьI do use Lease land sometimes. A good Otomo rush tactic is to take Hyuga, Loot it, and build leased land on all the spots and then abandon it to rebels it turns a near worthless region into a good quick buck. I will also do it late mid game when I want to turtle before realm divide. Take territory Lease the land and abandon it to rebels. If one of the other clans takes it they will be severely limited in what they can do with it.
Ответитьotomo in a nutshell. i love jesus and i love guns
ОтветитьSo anyway, I started blastin’
ОтветитьWe must take Kyotosalem. For there lies the Holy Water of Kuchimakisake!
Desu Vult! Ishono Kami!
it's been ten years since the game came out but... pew pew!!
ОтветитьDo the bow upgrades in the research tree (better accuracy, rof, etc.) also count for matchlock troops?
ОтветитьO-To-Mo Donkey san.
ОтветитьWho would win, a samurai who trained all his life in the art of traditional weapons of war or some GUN boi with less than a months worth of training.
ОтветитьNo need to destroy the nanban port, just abandon the city after you have upgraded it to a nanban quarter and after you lose it, re-build in the other province, re-take the starting home and now you have two.
ОтветитьYay i can do Japanesse crusade
ОтветитьHow do the nanban say it oh yes DEUS VULT.
ОтветитьA tip for army composition: Get yourself some sort of artillary. Any kind of artillary will do, its just there to make the enemy come towards you, even when you are the one attacking. This might seem like a very gerneral tip, but its especially effective if you use many matchlock units. If you can position yourself the slope of a hill, you can make much better use of your matlocks, since you can do 2 or even 3 firing lines, as the slope will allow your units to shoot over each other instead of being blocked by the unit in front of it. In that way, you can use a large amount of matchlocks much more effectively.
ОтветитьWould you reccomend me play the Otomo first? I love gunpowder and those types of guns like matchlocks and all that good shit. If there are any pros or Mr Smart Donkey himself, then please tell me.
ОтветитьI kinda wished the Otomo victory cutscene played more on the fact Japan was now a Catholic/Christian nation... its just the same as the others with a statue of a man that doesn’t even feature a cross...
ОтветитьEmbrace christianity NOW
-Otomo ministry of love
Why you setting katana samurais when you have portuguese tercos they are both good in melee.
ОтветитьIts also interesting that the Namban Trade Ship also gives you trade income like normal Trade Ships, but they can defend themselves way better. Put one of these and the rest normal Trade Ships in a fleet and you will have a big protected trade, :D
ОтветитьA high level Missionary can be extremely effective. He can disrupt a marching army or cripple the economy of enemy clans. You simply start a christian revolt. If left unattended the revolt will take the settlement and to stop the revolt the enemy has to use his armies. On top of that settlements held by christian rebels slowly convert to Christianity, which is nice considering the problem of religious unrest
ОтветитьI have one major exploit to the nanban tradeport. In my campaign I purposely allowed my main province to be captured, allowing me to build another nanban port in Buzen. I then recaptured my home province and voila I had 2. The reason I did this is to capitalize on the pirate bonus for my crews on my european trade ships and cash in on the economy boost. And ofcourse now I can recruit with the accuracy bonus in buzen.
ОтветитьOtomo in a nutshell
So i started blasting
guns
ОтветитьWhen you have the power of Anime, Guns and God on your side
ОтветитьInstead of destroying your Nanban Trade Port in your capital, you could instead incite a rebellion in the capital and allow rebels to take it over, before building another Nanban Trade Port in Buzen, (giving you the boost in accuracy bonus for the Portugese Terco) and then recapturing the capital, giving you two and allowing you to bypass the one Nanban Trade Port rule thus furthering your income even more.
