I’ve watched a handful of your videos now. All your pieces are so gorgeous ❤
ОтветитьThank you so much for this !!!!
ОтветитьLove your videos. You are quick, down to earth and so knowlegable !!
ОтветитьOk this helped. I have veneer on the doors and sides of my old China hutch I’m restoring.
Ответитьam new to your channel and am captivated by the skill and attention shown. you also provide valuable info for the true beginners. added to your warm yet determined attitude these make for great viewing.thank-you
ОтветитьTHANK YOU!!! This is exactly what I was looking for. Subscribed. Will definitely come back to reference this video as I learn things.
ОтветитьThis is really helpful. Thank you!
ОтветитьI really appreciate how, in all your videos, you teach. You tell us what you are using and why not only in regards to tools or supplies but finishes too. Why are there so many top coats? We’ll, Angie will tell you why she chose what she did for a project. I feel immersed in a online class when I binge watch your videos.
ОтветитьAngie, thank you again!
ОтветитьI'm starting to get into woodworking/cabinetry. I wasn't really thinking about things being made out of plastic laminates, or veneers. That is until I wanted to paint the bathroom vanity, and learned that paint does not get along with cheap laminate! Lol Thanks for the info.
ОтветитьYay I'm learning. Thank you very much 🎉🎉❤
Ответитьthank you for this very informative video. I have been confused by these terms and also appreciate that even 'solid wood' is often not truly what I think of when I hear that term. I always learn something from you and so appreciate your time and expertise. I return to your videos time and again and mine them for details that i missed the first time (or 2!) through. You are a gem.
ОтветитьI’ve always been afraid of picking something and finding out it’s low end crap! This is very helpful. I’ll have to pin this next time I go out looking for something to do. Thanks for the lesson Angie.
ОтветитьI’m a noob, and it looks like I have a veneer dresser with some solid wood. Thank you for teaching me this! I took many notes.
ОтветитьThat really helps a whole lot! 90% of the stuff in my area on market place is advertised as solid wood. When I go look at the piece, it's an obvious laminate, and I walk away from it. I'm not equipped to deal with that type yet. Gotta know when to hold em, and when to fold em!
ОтветитьBeautiful. Thanks for the lesson today.
ОтветитьWhat about the 80s marble lacquer? I see the top seperating in the top layer buy scuffing on the drawers?
ОтветитьYou are a great teacher & I love your attention to detail even in teaching.
ОтветитьGreat video! Thank you so much! I learned a lot from you!
ОтветитьYou’re amazing! You literally answered all the questions I had. Thank you!
Ответитьcan u strip a venier? im pretty sure that i have a furniture that has venier on top but not wood under that. Dont know how to remove the paint and varnish 😢
ОтветитьI’m a visual learner. Best video I’ve found so far for that topic!
ОтветитьThank you so much, really helpful.
ОтветитьI have the same little wooden cat
ОтветитьThank you so much for the information! Just getting into flipping furniture, specifically dressers so this is very very helpful. I admit I did not know veneer was wood, and thought it was similar to laminate. I could tell the difference between real wood and veneer or laminate, but not veneer and laminate. So thank you!!
ОтветитьCool
ОтветитьI can’t remember which videos I’ve heard you say this on, but I understand why you say don’t use pledge on Wood furniture. what do you recommend for removing dust and dirt on wood furniture, of course including veneer 😊
ОтветитьHello, I have an old MDF 4 drawer furniture that I bought from Walmart from like 2007 and its laminate plastic is peeling off. I would like to repair it by wrapping it again in laminate. What do you recommend?
ОтветитьI picked up this dresser you would LOVE! IT WAS FREE, MCM. Ive tried googling it and I cant find anything like it. It's absolutely gorgeous and people keep telling me I can't sand it but it's veneer and I know I can. I wish I could send you a picture 😅 it's beautiful. Found replacements for the same exact pulls on eBay because it's missing one.
ОтветитьPeople missuse the word solid almost every time. Not sure if by solid people mean “good condition”
Ответить❤Thank you! New to the field, very informative 👌
ОтветитьThank you for sharing this video and all the great information. It answered a lot of my questions. One question I do have is how do you answer “Is this a solid wood?” I am always on the fence trying to decide how much to disclose because as you said people seem turned off when the answer is no it is not solid wood. On the other hand, I do not want to be dishonest. Can you give me some guidance?
ОтветитьCan you refinish a veneer?
ОтветитьFound an excellent dresser but it smells like moth balls so we’re going to refinish it. I needed this unfortunately just a verbal description is not good enough for me. I need visual references with this great info.
ОтветитьDo you have any eco friendly versions? Preferrably bundled with galvanized square steel. I dont need screws i can borrow them from my aunt
ОтветитьWow super helpful
ОтветитьSUPER helpful!!! Thank you!
ОтветитьCame here to find out what my coffee table is. Started sanding what I thought was real wood and turns out it’s an overlay. What the overlay is? Idk
ОтветитьCan you explain what is high density manufactured wood? I see that everywhere
ОтветитьThank you,.. just starting out trying to figure out what is what,..going to refinish the top of a dresser and trying to learn the process,..great video!
ОтветитьThank you so much!!
ОтветитьThank you. That was very helpful.
ОтветитьVery useful information! Thank you!
ОтветитьA huge Thank You!
ОтветитьThank you! This is very helpful. I do know the difference between veneer and laminate just because you can see it! Veneer looks like wood; veneer looks like plastic. Maybe the older veneer you spoke of looks more like real wood though? Also, I think older pressed wood is better than the newer stuff. It seems to be much denser. But I think I recently bought a cabinet that is actually solid wood, and OH MY LORD! It is sooo heavy!!! So I am just fine with veneer.
ОтветитьVery helpful to this newbie, as I have a mix of all furniture that needs some love.
Ответитьoh my sweet heavens,.... that 2nd one from the left!!!! GORGEOUS!
ОтветитьWhat would you suggest to remove paint layers from laminate furniture like that? thank you!!
ОтветитьVery helpful! I've learned so much from you, Angie. Thank you!!
ОтветитьAngie, again thank you for your great video's. Please include that sometimes "Laminate" can refer to Gluing pieces of Solid wood together for a larger "Piece" of Solid wood. I find it most often on Tables or Countertops. In fact, I've even used 2x8's to create a "Solid wood" counter top. it's easy but extremely heavy, so the quality of the cabinets is important.
All of these pieces are wonderful, thank you for saving them from the landfill!
Please keep up the art, stay well, stay safe. Blessings to you. ♥♥♥!
