The reason Arizona doesn't observe daylight savings is because it's soooo hot here, so last thing we need is another hour of daylight! Lol

Did you know that there are two islands between Russia and the United States ? One is owned by each and they are 2.5 miles apart BUT the difference in time zones is almost 21 hours ! This is because the international time line passes between those islands !

2 more facts about the US: it is the 3rd largest in the world, both by population and area. India and China have more people than the US; Russian Federation and Canada are larger by area than the US.
2nd fact: there are more firearms than people in the US, around 330 million people and 400 million firearms in private collections. (By private collections, I mean citizens, not the Government.)

Kansas City Missouri was a city before Kansas was even a state. The Kansas River runs through KC (along with the Missouri River) - Kansas City was named after the river. When Kansas became a state they built a city connected to KC Mo and they named it Kansas City Kansas thinking the already well established KC Mo would become a part of Kansas’s city. That didn’t work out for them. There is still a KC Kansas but it is only a 1/4 of the size as Kansas City Mo and has very little to do there. That’s the story to KCMo/KCK. People in KCMo get a little uptight about people saying the Chiefs are in Ks due to the people in KCMo are the ones paying the taxes to keep up the stadium to keep the Chiefs.

There are two Kansas Cities. The larger one is in Missouri. They are both close to each other, near the state line. There is also a West New York and it's in New Jersey. There is also a Vancouver, Washington, as well as Vancouver, BC. The Statue of Liberty may be in New Jersey waters, but the part of the island before landfill enlarged it, is part of New York. The landfill part has been ruled by the courts as being in New Jersey. But the statue itself is on the original, natural part of the island and has been ruled as part of NY, so he's wrong about that. The Statue of Liberty is in NY, surrounded by NJ.

Sorry but the first capital of the US was indeed Philadelphia. It's where the Continental Congress enacted the Articles of Confederation (the first constitution of the United States, establishing the country's national government) in 1781. Philadelphia was still the capital at the time of the signing of the Treaty of Paris. Which was signed on September 3, 1783, ending the American Revolution and establishing the United States as an independent country. New York did not become the capital until March 4, 1789 when the congress convened to write and ratify the Constitution (as in the one we use today).

100 acres of pizza a day translates to just under 2 (the exact number is an irrational number that can be rounded down to 1.812) square inches of pizza per person. 20 billion hot dogs per year translates to just under 1/6 (the exact number is an irrational number that can be rounded down to .158) of a hot dog per person per day. 50 billion hamburgers per year translates to just under 2/5 (the exact number is an irrational number that can be rounded up to .396) of a hamburger per person per day. But remember that not everyone eats pizza, hot dogs, and/or hamburgers every day, and someone who's had hot dogs and/or hamburgers today isn't necessarily going to have some tomorrow or even any other day for the next week or longer.

Day light savings time was created to take advantage of maximum daylight. Winters up north are dark quickly so moving the time by one hour helps out with still having some daylight when you get home from work.Otherwise you leave for work & return in darkness. Not as bad as the Arctic Circle, but depressing. Arizona & Hawaii are more tropical, closer to the equator, so more sun, no point in adjusting time for that. Not sure why other Western states have it.

New York City is actually just as close to being a city for New Jersey that is how close they are to each other. People from New York normally don't like New York City because it does dictate what happens in a lot of the actually state. To give you reference where i live in New York there is only around 3,000 people for my town

Yeah Statue of Liberty is an odd bird. Its mailing address is listed as New York, New York, but its on an island (Liberty Island) and that island is in the middle of New York harbor near the mouth of the Hudson River. The other side of the river is New Jersey, and the state line runs down the middle of the river. Liberty Island is actually on the New Jersey side of the state line, so its not even really in New York state, let alone New York City, but its still considered New York jurisdiction,...so really weird set up.

50 billion hamburgers per year / 346 million people is approximately 144.5 hamburgers per person per year or .4 per person per day
20 billion hot dogs divided by 346 million=approximately 58 hot dogs per person per year or .15 per day
