Big Block Energy. Are you ready for the new Tudor release tomorrow? (The timing of this post is a little disingenuous . . . because, for my money, it’s going to be a new “North Flag”!)

My hand is shaking there a little bit, because it’s really that heavy! Even in a charity auction, Tudor seems to provide value for money by serving up this beautiful hunk of gold in what is essentially their version of the “John Player Special” (lot no. 58).

This Tudor Prince Chronograph One features a prototype Tudor/Kenissi calibre—the MT59xx—which might subtly prefigure and announce a transition from the current Tudor chronograph movements built on the base of Breitling’s B01.

In addition to its stunning styling in the manner of the perennial auction favorite “John Player Special” chronographs—harkening back to the famous black and gold livery of @lotuscars—what I really like about this Tudor chronograph is the discrete expression of the date function at 3 o’clock.

For my part, I’d love to see Tudor eventually bring back the “Big Block”! How about you?
