The Forgotten Portraits (David Duchow)

Several pieces of music that I created in 2006 are strung together and combined with motion stills of photographs from times past. Ironically, I have forgotten why I named this "The Forgotten Portraits" - seems apt. I'm kidding. There was a huge volume of old photographs of family, friends, strangers - none of which I had seen before, that I found in my mother's things, after she died in 2005. Many became the basis for my videos/films: "The Formal Portraits", "The Informal Portraits" (see them at my Vimeo channel - you can get the link for my Vimeo channel on my You Tube channel pages)), The Mirrored Portraits, the video about my dad (also viewable at my Vimeo channel) - with many photos that didn't make the cut for those vids - seen here in - "the forgotten portraits".
