It's a dream boat, you'll keep it for many years. My dream car isn't considered fast any more and it's more expensive than a lot of new cars. Yet I would be so happy to own it. That is how you have to look at this boat. Keep up the video series, we're enjoying the progress!

I'm shocked that that extensive a repair can be done from outside-in considering how the boat was originally mfg. That HAS to be very expensive! I'd guess most would total the boat and part it out.

The Chesapeake bay is bad enough without your trim tab fluid being dumped into it. That's really not funny or cute knowingly dumping fluid into the bay. You should hold yourself to a higher standard being a content creator. Love the boat, keep up the good work man.

I thought this was a boat restoration channel?? This whole video is just a guy dumping wheelbarrows full of cash into a military grade burn pit??

Jk jk, good job dude! Once you get it done and rebuilt stronger you'll sleep easier be super proud you repaired that whole ass boat lol This isn't even as bad as what SV Parlay had to do to those catamarans 😬

People think this is a lot of work, y'all need to check out the wooden boat builders, those dudes are 100% NUTS! Lol Incredible works of art but holy moly those dudes do a lot of work.

Personally, I have seen too many balsa cored hulls and other structures fail. when the skin is compromised the balsa is like a sponge. ..mistake is made replacing the balsa core with balsa core. . I once considered purchasing some fiberglass hulls but quickly changed my mind when I discovered they were was balsa cored... You are ahead of yourself applying bottom paint so soon, If I am not mistaken bottom paint will either skin over or oxidize while out of the water. I like to apply it when I am ready to launch. I have been around the marine industry for over 50 years on many oceans

I don't knock anyone for execution of their plan but please consider a couple of issues I've come to know as absolute fact. Water will always find its way into where you think it shouldn't. Blaming through hulls may be partially correct but replacing core with the same garbage that failed is a mistake. Water will do what it already did regardless of through hull fitment.

Why didn’t you use the Coosa board on the entire boat instead of replacing the balsa wood with more balsa?

Who cleans up all the paint and fiberglass all over the ground and in the gravel. Most I see put plastic all over to keep it from getting out in the environment. Prob goes where your tab fluid goes.

When I had my boats on the eastern shore,
We were required to have the ground tarped
To catch any debris , paints , gas or oils while working on the boat.

Balsa Core is the worst filler between hull outer and inner skin it is cheap and cheap the manufacture profits greatly with cheap filler. The moment balsa gets moisture from damp air it goes into much very usually causes from hairline cracks in the surface glass but more so through through hull fixtures. They all reverted instead of solid glass hulls which last 100 years with wood marine grade plywood for glasses in structure support to garbage best of luck, I have always stuck by Never Buy a Balsa or foam cored hull Never!

That boat was not made with a chopper gun. It may have a beauty layer but it would never be strong enough to do the whole thing that way. Looks like they are going over repairs with 1708 bi-axial cloth.
