Oh my god. Citizen Kane is a Masterpiece. Always disappointed that Richard champions trash. I love him but really. His fav creation was the bloody awful mindless Deal or No Deal and that 😅leaves me sad. Entertainment is important and liking easy to watch tv isn’t a crime, except any dating show, but great movies and great TV can move you, inspire you, shake you, make you deliriously happy or soul wrenching sad. And that’s why they are always better. If we are producing people too lazy or scared to risk watching the art side of film, then sadness is too flippant to express how that makes me feel.

I love Citizen Kane, but it'd be tough one up against Total Wipeout.

But surely worldwide, Citizen Kane would win. 99% of living people have never heard of Interior Design Masters.

Someone I was at university did spent a week in the production office where tv burp was made. They said there were people watching the same episode of something over and over again with headphones on and going slightly mad until they found something funny in it

Maybe it polled that way because to 60%+ of people who voted think watching an episode of Interior Design is epic viewing, as anything longer than 15 seconds will be to them and that Citizen Kane is just involves what must seem like an insurmountable challenge to watch from beginning to end.

I lasted 3 minutes of watching you squabbling - not sure how serious it was but - but I found it truly irritating. You are both so much better than this

Martin Scorsese has made amazing films but he is an old now I thought Marina meant young directors who are up and coming not someone who was born a year after Citizen Kane was released.

My uncle was a very senior flu researcher in 2020, and so of course he was called upon to give media interviews when Covid entered the public consciousness. He was very quickly sent on media training by his university because in his first interview he spent the whole time saying how exciting it was that we would get to observe this brand new virus first-hand. The interviewer kept trying to help him with comments like "and also very worrying for people, don't you think?", and he would sort of say "oh yes, and worrying of course." before returning to what a historic moment it was.
