The lakers have the tallest team in the NBA right now if you look at average height. Sure their centers are a bit undersized but their team is HUGE. And that height helps their undersized big men tremendously so that they can do what they need to do.

I think one of the most overrated things in basketball is “size difference.” Don’t get me wrong, when you’re a decent amount shorter and a decent amount just physically smaller, then clearly it’s an issue. But for someone like LeBron who’s 6’9 and like 260-270 lbs. I think being WAY STRONGER than a guy who’s like 3” taller than you but 10-20 lbs lighter than you MORE THAN MAKES UP FOR THAT. There’s a reason why players like Draymond have multiple DPOYs, why Zion when healthy is so good, why Charles Barkley was an all-time great, why Zach Randolph was so dominant, Bam Adebayo is one of the best defenders in the league at 6’9”, and even Shaq, even tho he was 7’1”, he was also bigger and stronger than everyone. It’s because in a game where everyone’s thin and pretty weak, someone with actual strength like LeBron can just push them out of the way and just bounce them out of places and why players just bounce off of him. It’s why Luka, Jokic, and Carmelo are/were so good, it’s because other players always say how strong they are.
