Roadside America is closed. 😢
Shame too, it was one of my favorite places as a kid and I took my own son there when he was little. It was pretty amazing. Shame we’re losing such gems. People just aren’t interested by these kinds of things, I guess. It’s a real loss to the state and all Pennsylvanians.

Roadside America has been closed for a few years now. I do remember visiting it as a kid and I took my sons there. My sons are both in their 40's now

The Haines Shoe a house is no longer open to the public for tours. Too bad - We went about 7 years ago. It was really interesting- there’s even a shoe shaped dog house in the yard

You have to update this video. The Haines Show House closed as a museum and is now a BnB.

Also, Roadside America is closed permanently.

The Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour in Scranton takes you 300 feet below the Earth's surface. The Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine & Steam Train in Ashland takes you 1800 feet into the side of the mountain and 400 feet below the earth. I recommend both tours for very different experiences of how coal veins run.

Nice video. Seldom seen closed in 2018. I used to go there and I enjoyed it. They even did a Halloween tour. All of those locations in Bedford county are worth a stop. The tea pot is nicely maintained.

Yes, Pennsylvania is a state full of a lot of strange ideas. Bedford, Pa that giant coffee pot still stands on Route 30, this is the famous route that runs from Pennsylvania to California, it is called the Beltway because it runs through the middle of the United States.
Half a mile north on Route 30 is a wooden statue of a guy playing a horn, this attraction was made for children in the 1950's. All the attractions are gone, but new people have bought the land & are selling candles & wreaths. The horn player is painted every 5 yrs for their
business attraction. Just up the road is an old abandoned Pa historical church built in 1806, traveling further on route 30 climbing the hill to reach a sign 2464 is where the ship museum once stood actually designed & built in the shape of a ocean liner it stood for many yrs, then turned into a zoo & burned to the ground. When the 911 was in play, 1 of the jests crashed up that way there is a marker & a billboard 4 it.

The Shoe House is still there but not available for touring. Last year it was renovated and can be rented as a place to stay through AirBnB. I am one of the property’s neighbors.
