Hey guys good to see you and yes I stayed in Fethiye for about a month at S3 King Residence close to the Carrefour grocery store.. I stayed at another hotel but I love that Marina area like you guys.. tons of restaurants lots of walking the Migros store was great.. and yes when you buy wine in Turkiye you get free lube hahahaha.. those taxes really add up. I was there in February and it was a little cool but still very beautiful.. I don't think I do long-term there it was a little small but very enjoyable.. there's certainly no shortage of restaurants or places for tea or beautiful views and I really enjoyed the people.. enjoy your travels stay safe keep smiling 😁😁😁😁
ОтветитьAnother informative video. You’ve totally sold us on Fethiye, we shall book for November😊
ОтветитьI also spent serious time in Alanya .. Beautiful too and like a smaller Antalya!
ОтветитьI think you guys might have messed up on the expense somehow. If you both had one beer a day at 2.63 dollars x 30 days that = $157.80.
ОтветитьYou're going to need more than a day trip to Rhodes trust me. Try not to get a noisy hotel and you could easily do a month there (and thats in the heart of winter). Rent a car and check out the other end of the island. Absolutely stunning!!!!
ОтветитьFantastic video and great timing! We were thinking of adding Fethiye and/or Antalya to our Türkiye trip next month. We think we will just skip those for now and add Egypt to this trip. We will head to the Algarve next week and soak that up as a pacifier for now.
ОтветитьThat was a fantastic video! Now I am checking flights to Turkey. We are also considering going to Vancouver.
ОтветитьOh wow guys!!! This place looks amazing and we just moved it up to one of our new places to visit/stay for a while ❤ thanks!!!!!!
ОтветитьSo sad you have changed your style of video . Loved it when you took us along with you rather than just sitting talking about it and not really showing the actual place .
ОтветитьWe are currently in Cappadocia, and heading to Antalya soon and just rewatched your videos. Next we will be heading to Kas. Let me know if you guys plan on visiting Kas in the next month and a half. Thanks for your videos!
ОтветитьWe always fly back from Boston to Europe via Istambul because we like Turkish Airlines and Turkey. We are now in Greece and heading next to Malta. First time. Then back to Portugal where we’re supposed to relax but there’s so much to see that we don’t. The pace changes though since it’s somewhat home but not really. I can only relax in the U.S. Does that happen to you?
ОтветитьB&C thanks for the recap on Fethiye. I will be in Turkey in early - mid June at the end of a 3-1/2 month tour of Europe. After spending 5 days in Instanbul my goal was to find some place to kick back but also have some things to do. I was vascillating between Fethiye and Anatyla and am glad I decided to make my last 8 days in Fethiye. I will be in need of a place to "chillax". Yes, I know it is going to be hot; but hey I spent the last 14 years making sales calls in the Palm Springs area in CA where it got up to 118 - 120 degrees. Great video, thanks again for all of your work!
ОтветитьI went to Turkey for a month 25 years ago but I got offered a job and ended up staying 5 years, I loved living in Fethiye , it looks very different than it was at that time.
ОтветитьThank you guys. You are a constant motivation for my future endeavors. I'm curious if you are using a credit card that offers points and if it is a primary in your purchasing. I am aware many areas prefer cash and many credit cards have a foreign transaction fee. If this was covered in one of your previous videos, I apologize. Thanks!
ОтветитьThank you, have you noticed any public tennis courts or tennis club in the area?
ОтветитьThe view from your balcony is beautiful!
ОтветитьGreat and useful video ! Can we drink water straight from the tap in both Fethiye and Antalya ? :)
ОтветитьEveryone has recommended Fethiye to me , in the same way you do, both Turkish people and travellers, I’ve never heard anything negative!
So, I started travelling to Türkiye since 2022 , was there last year aswell, and have heard about how much prices have gone up lately. Did you notice this at all??
From your revelations it doesn’t seem like much has worsened?
Another very informative video. With costs for two people for 28 days at $2500USD, you are quickly convincing me that Turkey is a place to spend some quality time. It looks amazing, with the walking food and access to water/beaches. Even the 3/10 safety for parks is acceptable too, as I don't have that fear of heights! You show once again a way of travel that I would like to emulate without being "cheap". You eat well, stay in age-appropriate living (not hostels) and you are living in a new place. Thanks and I look forward to more of your adventures. Cheers
ОтветитьGreat video, Brian and Carrie. I am going to Istanbul next week. Do I need to get an e-visa? Thank you so much!
ОтветитьI watched a bunch of your videos but idk your # place. What is it? 😊
ОтветитьThat looks like a beautiful place!
ОтветитьGreat Info! Turkey definitely jumped up on my list from these videos (and not schengen, so a great option for extended slow travel).
ОтветитьQuestion - I am going to be traveling around various places in Turkiye for seven weeks in June and July. Is the tap water drinkable or do you drink bottled or filtered water?
ОтветитьThank you for this video, and your views also for solo women travelers. I look forward to visiting, next year, in the off-season. I decided to become a resident of Mexico, and Mexico City is polluted during the winter/ spring months so travels to Europe will coordinate well when leaving the city. Besides avoiding huge tourist crowds when traveling, I also avoid places that are extremely hot, and/or polluted. I recently looked at your video on Thailand and the slash and burn is also in Mexico and South America, and that mixed with arrivals of desert dust on the trade winds has been difficult, overall. Thanks again!
ОтветитьVery informative video, it’s a practical travel guide! How did you pick up Fethiye? Have you heard about it before? Usually people go to Antalya, so I wonder how did you find and pick up Fethiye. Did you go to the doctors or the dentist there at least for a check up? turkey is known for dental tourism.
ОтветитьYou both look great and love the haircut too the Turkish delight and great tips on the comparison between the cities. Your Airbnb did jack up your monthly budget but like you said it was worth it. I would probably have to pick a much lesser Airbnb when I’m there but I love all the tips of where to choose your location. It really helps a lot and I’m glad Carrie that when you go to a new place you see it as a solo female traveler would and that gives us Older babes a lot more confidence to follow in your steps, safe travels and Salud!
ОтветитьBtw thanks for letting us know there was an Irish Pub there.☘️😂
ОтветитьHi there you two! Have been following you since your first arrival in Turkey 😊 I am going hopefully in mid September to Mid Oct and will be in Fethiye the beginning of Oct. - hope the water is swimmable. Having a hard time finding a place in either the old town by harbor or the beach to the north… because A lot of comments say it’s noisy with clubs and bars in both those areas and… parking (we will have a rental car ) . have you or did you have any problems with party noise up until 3 am??? We will be there Monday and Tuesday so maybe tolerable? Or maybe those comments were in high season? Any advise and comments on your experience is welcomed.
ОтветитьGreat video folks!! We have now put Fethiye on our list and will be spending a month there later on this year! Cheers!
ОтветитьHey,just saw your vlog....fethiye is a great fishing port and an all year port.
Dalaman is the main airport and is lovely airport.
Flights are fairly good and you can go via Istanbul and then a domestic flight out side of height of the season.
Very reasonable prices for domestic flights...also the local dolmus is a great cheap local transport....you can get a travel kart and top it up.
Lovely shopping mall in fethiye and lovely boutiques in paspatur area near the amphitheatre...fethiye just keeps giving.....hotel prices are up this season but we have a beach front in calis plaji...with breakfast for 30.00 sterling per night for 2 people....amazing.🎉😂😢😮
I love your music choice at the beginning and the end (and all the great info in between)!❤
ОтветитьHow does it compare to izmir?
ОтветитьSo for the smaller areas, is there adequate intercity transit? I’m looking into touring around this area in the fall, and from what I gather online, there is only one bus 3 times a week from Kas to Olympos, for example. It would be ideal to take a bus, but if renting a car is a better option, would you feel safe driving? - solo female traveler from Canada 😇
ОтветитьWe have been going to Fethiye and areas like Antalya and Olu Deniz for over 30 years. We visited Chalis Beach three years for the first time - brilliant location.
Good vlog.
Hi guys, I live in Fethiye over 20 yrs, nice informed vlog, btw buses Do run to Kas /Kalkan all yr round, they are not seasonal services. Tickets from main Otogar. Also Dalaman to Istanbul is around 1 hr flight, so gateway to the rest of the world
ОтветитьCome to Istanbul Brian you are welcomed everyday to your hometown!
ОтветитьI am so on the same page with you guys. I started with travelling around Schengen for the past four years but not only that it is more expensive but often not safe or clean as some of the Eastern countries. I had a bit of a scare as a solo traveller in Vienna and Verona (my apartments were only 5 - 10 mins from the main station). However, I never had an issue in Montenegro or Hungary. Albania and Turkey are on my list next week. Thank you for your very informative content. I have shared it with my Aussie friends so I don't have to explain stuff to them. Lol. Happy travels!
ОтветитьHi Carrie, which e-sim provider is good. We are going to travel turkey and Greece for a month in September. Thank you very much for your time!😊danielle
ОтветитьAny gym suggestions? I travel 6 months a year and only go where reasonable gyms are. Which means not much in Greece.
ОтветитьVery honest and detailed review. As someone who was born in Turkey but living in the US as a citizen for the last 30 years I enjoyed watching it. Turkey is probably the best value for what you get in the World right now along with the safety and climate.
ОтветитьI LIVE IN DALAMAN AND ITS 40 MINS DRIVE ,NOT 25 .
ОтветитьSo, sooo grateful for you two and the effort & info you put into the videos you share. So helpful and very appreciated!! I'm making my list for places for us to visit just as soon as I can devise my plan to get the husband on board for early retirement & full time travel. Your informative videos are my secret weapon in my quest to that end!!
ОтветитьHi
Thank you very much for sharing the videos.
I live in California, but we bought a house in Fethiye. We love the Fethiye a lot.
I hope we will see you there one day.
❤❤❤
Ответить👍
ОтветитьHi guys,
Did you ever make it to Oluduniz for the paragliding? It was magical .
20 years lived there and almost every year visit there..For retirement will move again..Thats the plan..The most beautiful place ...Lovely...
ОтветитьWe’re planning on going to Turkey and some islands in Greece in the beginning of next April (trying to escape the grey Seattle weather 😂). If you were there around that time of year, how was the weather? Was it too cold to swim? Thanks for the helpful vids!
