Leon Hall got abused by everybody. Hughes everyone knows is a Cover2 corner, not a man corner. Two years ago Calvin Johnson wasn't the best WR. Cason's not great. Stop measuring Jarrett based on the fact that he had great college numbers. That doesn't mean he's a) a better prospect, b) better than Johnson (who had better numbers anyways), or c) going to succeed in the NFL.

great video, but wrong conclusion. when you look around, it's pretty obvious to everyone except USC homers that Calvin is not only the best receiver in this draft but potentially one of the best receivers to ever play the game. and don't you dare quote statistics as "proof". if Jarrett had Reggie Ball as his quarterback and Calvin had Leinart/Booty, it would have been flat-out unfair.

Not only did Jarret have a better qb, he had better system, head coach, superior o-line, and other star teamates. Calvin Johnson was their whole offense. 56% of Reggie Ball's passes were completed to CJ, and Reggie Ball had a 44% completion percentage. 26% of Booty's passes went to Jarret, and Booty had a62% completion percentage. Put Johnson in a USC uniform and Jarret in a GT uni, and we'll see how that turns out.

T.O. has a qb that can at least get him the ball. I would love to see how T.O. would do on the raiders with andrew walter at Q.

Calvin Johnson, is faster, stronger, a better route runner and a more natural reciever than Dwayne Jarret, and this explains why CJ went to the number 2 overall pick in the Draft and DJ went whatever number he did. CJ is a COMPLETE reciever, a presence to be recokoned with on the field, and a natural leader. DJ cannot top that!

You guys are all forgetting about the talent around these guys. Dwayne Jarrett was getting the ball thrown to him by Matt Leinart and John David Booty. Calvin had to catch balls thrown to him by Reggie Ball. Its not really fair to compare stats when you look at it like that. USC's Quarterbacks are a hundred times better than Reggie Ball could ever hope to be.

Also, there was another great player on the other side of Jarrett in Steve Smith. This meant that teams playing against USC couldn't double up all the time. Calvin was doubled almost every time he lined up. Joe Johnson (who is the other GT receiver) is a good player but he is not anything special. The teams playing GT didn't have to worry so much about him hurting them.

lol trey you said before that they will both become elite recievers in a few years. why are you saying now that cj is going to bust? Terrell Owens and Rice are two of the best ever without amazing speed, but there's also guys like randy moss and steve smith of the panthers who do use their speed to be successful.

Yea Calvin's faster than Jarret BUT Calvin is not gonna always be running straight lines in the NFL he's gonna have to learn how to run routes and beat his defenders, Jarret on the other hand has already mastered the "Beating your Defenders with perfect routes" Technique at USC, and you best believe that USC is very good at preparing there players for the next level, I would take Experience before I take Speed any time...

Hey man I'm an SC fan and DJ is actually one of my fave SC football players ever, but I don't think he beats Calvin Johnson. Fo sho, DJ beats out CJ when it comes to hands and route running (the catches you showed aren't even all of DJ's best), but Johnson has a huge size and speed advantage over Dwayne, and those factors are extremely important for wide receivers and any position in football. Nonetheless, thanx for the love and fight on!

numbers are misleading. DJ has a better proven qb than CJ had, if CJ had the same caliber qb as DJ then I think CJ's numbers would've been near equal or higher than DJ. But let's wait for the SEASON to begin and we'll see who proves who wrong.

I like Hawaii's QB a lot...because he doesn't have many weapons and he has some steller numbers. DJ is a possession type wideout who should do fine on the Panthers if they get a better QB eventually, while CJ is an overall very similar to TO's style of playing...he can do EVERYTHING! I predict DJ to have a better career...always a stud from NJ and always will be...go trojans!!!

actually moss went kinda later because teams were afraid of his off field/character issues, of which johnson has shown none of. dj has gotten into some minor off-field trouble and has also shown he's not as humble as johnson.

i do agree with the sc fans that DJ has better technique, better hands, better route running than johnson, but i don't think his skills are better than johnson to overcome johnson's athletic advantage. Johnson has good hands too, and can run routes when committed to it. also if DJ had played every game this past year his and johnson's numbers would have been very similar, with johnson in a worse system and getting more attention from defenders.

None of those make you a better player" Think of all-time great wide-receivers and TELL ME THE QB'S THROWING TO THEM ARE NOT IN OR GOING TO THE HALL OF FAME Swann-Bradshaw,Rice-Montana/Young,Freeman/Favre,Smith-Elway,Irvin-Aikman,having a great QB makes you a better Receiver,afterall they get you the ball (cont)

dj shouldve gone first. he is waaaaaaaaaaay better than calvin. before the draft, i ve never even heard of cj. im tired of the dj- mike williams comparisons. dj is a lot smarter, and actually faster. dont be fooled by 40 times. because if its based on that , than jery rice shouldve gone in the second day w/ his 4.6 in the combine

No. it's right the way it is. Calvin Johnson is bigger and has the speed. But hands and Route running belong to Dwayne Jarrett. If you actually watched him play in college you would know that Johnson dropped way to many passes.

@aDumbassViet - 16.10.2007 10:16

Ha, you really don't know your footbsll at all. "CJ is the closest prospect to Jerry Rice since Randy Moss", Jerry Rice was actually view in the same way as Jarrett during 1985 draft. Many team were wary of his 4.7 40-yard and the offense that he was in was great and always a pass-first offense.
