Had good luck mixing sanding dust from the wood being filled, mix with woodglue to a thin putty, fill.

All these armchair experts critiquing your work can pound sand. It took me 2 attempts at a 21 gallon pour to realize the heat was splitting it and I was so heart broken after the second attempt I almost hung it up. Your work is top tier

Only put glue on bottom of filler and make sure to match the grain with the wood. The glue creates a ring around it that no matter how much sanding it will always show. Wood particles should fill around it when sanding. No ring. No show
