Yeah. 70 years old machine countered by newest technology. What a surprise. The title is unfair for this machine.

Unlike the B-52 which suffered its first shoot downs at the hands of Soviet supplied SAMs over Vietnam lol. they literally have the wreck of one in a lake. Ukraine had to catch these on the ground with a months long operation that amounts to a one time can't be repeated very easily stunt.
BUT the worst part of this, is now literally anything can justifiably be suspected as a drone launch mechanism. because any random container could be a drone launcher. A more perfect weapon for terrorism and blacks ops has never existed.

A hangar for such a big airplane is really expensive especially when it must be hardened agains explosives. It must be self supporting because you can´t have a columm in the middle and even the hangar-doors must be hardened.

What are you talking about with "fiber optic controlled drones"? I haven't heard a single source say the drones were controlled in that manner for this attack.
It's not feasible when you remember that some of them were taking off next to highways. Their cables almost definitely would have been broken by passing traffic.

You forgot to mention that the bomber was out on the runway due to an arms treaty. And that the plane was being ready to be retired. It’s not a loss like you’re presenting it. Russia is still winning this operation.

Who rejoices over the deletion of magnificent propeller-driven aircraft?
It’s a sin. I curse the American government for touching even ONE of these magnificent aircraft.
RUSSIA IS NOT MY ENEMY.
With love from an American.

I like how you say in the thumbnail couldn't be stopped and invincible yeah invincible to the point where unless an a120C amram gets a lock on from an f-15 f22 or any NATO plane because generally Russian planes just suck ass. This TU bomber actually was good back then. Now it's an old relic of the past. It just sucks as like any Russian equipment I understand. I'll be probably called an idiot, but I'm pretty sure last time I checked this we could have shot out of the air if we wanted to. We don't do it because of we don't want to enter a war with a country that can be instantly wiped because of one plane. That is God the god forsaken f22. I would love to say the f-15 but the f22 is King so please stop with the b*****

My understanding is that Ukraine intercepted communications that indicated an emminent attack. Which is how they knew to get them when armed and fueled for maximum damage.

So funny story about Ukranian drones. In Kiev a massive drone factory called "The bulshovik plant" just get vaporized its all over Twitter. It was disguised as a shopping mall, which I'm pretty sure is an ACTUAL war crime, plus it was in the middle of the city so human shields were effectively being employed. They know it was a factory because the Kiev regime had been working on it for 5 years now and it just got completely destroyed. Massive set of secondary detonations and fires all over Kiev from this one strike. Didn't take long for Russian to strike back did it?

We also can’t forget the M3-4 Miyasichev (Bison) that scared the west into developing more advanced bombers like the B-52 during the Cold War. Similar build but with jet engines. Was a beautiful plane too!

There is footage shot from drones in the Russia/Ukraine war, where soldiers are desperately scrambling on their knees trying to enter thickets of bushes as they're relentlessly pursued. Some of the video is close enough that you can see the terror on their faces as the drone flies into them. Truly horrifying to watch.

Nice video, I really wanted to find out more about these rustbuckets despite how much I hate them and their users. Two things of note though: first of all, my understanding is that the drone truck shown in the video caught on fire after "shooting off" its "payload", so it was a planned move, not a failure. Secondly, russians are notorious for lying about the characteristics of their weaponry to instill fear, it feels like no matter what weapon we're talking about - russians will insist on it being "die Wunderwaffe". Here's an example: back in the 70s the soviets introduced a new fighter jet, the MiG-25. It was thought to outperform the western counterparts in terms of engine power and so in. Then in 1976 a true hero, Viktor Belenko, stole one such bucket of bolts and landed it somewhere in Japan. What followed was a thorough study of the aircraft resulting in one general conclusion - it was technologically inferior, obsolete even. Heck, it was too heavy to reach the initially stated speed. Russians lied, as they had always been doing.
I get that the Tu-95 is a notorious and dangerous aircraft, but don't overestimate something with a 73-year old design.
