I hope what is happening to St. Petersburg, doesn't happen there. St. Pete has lost it's Florida charm to oversized apartments and condos of big devolopers.

I agree that although progression is occurring , it’s going pretty slow. Also, they are clearing too many areas for apartment buildings and houses. Jacksonville is huge land wise, but I hope the city doesn’t allow the residential developers to continue this building frenzy. The city needs to lure businesses in that will create more hangout and entertainment type spots and a greater selection of eateries would be awesome too. An aquarium and a history and science museum (with IMAX theater, of course) and planetarium would be fantastic!

Jacksonville will become a much better place when one, they put people on the school board that have at least 5 years teaching in a classroom it really should be part of the the rules for electing them. To somewhere where there's good ventilation we need to set up and or build with old empty tractor trailers or boxcars the homeless and give them a place to live and or just congregate. Similar to that boat City down in Miami two they should have signed a certain set of group of cops to handle them. Two for any domestic drop by for police officers, they need to have somebody on watch at the office or down in the car and the officer should be wearing one of those of Fitbit watches so you can keep a track of their heartbeat and blood pressure. A captain of someone watching his people could be in their ear and saying hey guy, take a beat, step back a little bit we won't have as many shootings. . And it may even help to remind the office of that he is a peace officer. I'm not saying risk his life if you've actually seen some danger but going in looking for danger is wow that Mssy girl is dead now. Three city council needs to stop trying to do things behind our back. I remember calling in to find out who actually brought the bill to the council to sell JEA a few years back. I want to send them a terse letter. Monster my surprised no one knew who brought the bill so I was not surprised later on when somebody got arrested. Most importantly though I love the fact that there are very good bands here even though most choose to play in St Augustine because they can make more money. My thing has always been live music. I don't always like the band that's playing but I follow the folio to see who's playing and I go listen. I do think that we need to be sure that river is maintained and try to find a way to get that Riverwalk going as far as we can to make the city more Walker friendly. And I am not one of those people who think just because you are homeless you get to act any kind of way. We need to find a way to clean up some of that downtown area it looks terrible.. I mean more depressing. I will say that there are a lot of friendly people here even the ones who are little put off by too much diversity in their own words. Also I am a busker in my free time. And I got to tell you how annoying it is to have police officers getting out of their car in the heat to try to move me along as if I'm actually breaking a rule. I have the rules from the courthouse. And they're quite simple you can't block a business or a sidewalk and you cannot ask for money in specific amounts. You can just put a tip jar out and people can put in what they want. And it is random, because you can pass by other times and see people playing a guitar or spending those little fire hoops which has to be dangerous.

I think though if somebody had to ask me two things that I like the most, it would be the parks, and all of the live music everywhere I mean even most of our festivals are free. So it does bother me when people are getting a free festival in a complaining about how much the food cost. You got to be reasonable people, somebody is paying for this and in most cases it a large portion of it is the vendors paying for a spot to sell their wares with no guarantee that the weather will cooperate. So you're getting a show that would normally cost $50 to 100 bucks and you're complaining about $8 Burger. That's the downside of Jacksonville is that when your literacy rate is so low that means you're understanding rate is also low in terms of having the ability to put things in perspective.

Apartment buildings are popping up everywhere. I am in metro Atlanta and the traffic is beyond insane. Maybe heading to Jacksonville very soon.
