I didn’t mind this it wasn’t as good as the original but I didn’t think it was terrible in fact I quite enjoyed it for what it was to the point where I’d watch it again even though the original was way better
ОтветитьSorry Kris and John the way I'm hearing the Live action ends I hate it destroys the THEMES or the original Animation don't care how UNREALISTIC IT IS WHEN ITS WITH ALIENS! Ohana is about family and no one gets left behind. But nah just leave your sister.
ОтветитьNot a bad movie but does not touch the original
ОтветитьFrom what i heard this is the girl's first acting job and she has to already act vs something that isnt there is impresive for sombody who just got started
ОтветитьI couldn't disagree with your thoughts on the ending more. It's not superior to the animation anyway. More realistic? The movie left realistic in the rearview in the opening 5 minutes. First, I agree everybody not named Lilo and stitch were inferior to the animated versions. I think Lilo in this was perfect but I have some issues with stitch too. First of all, they nerfed Stitch. He's supposed to feel a whole lot more unstoppable than they made him. They played up the dumb dog angle far too much. Second, the bond between stitch and Lilo came far too simply. Stitch used her for protection and didn't give a shit about Lilo at first, and the relationship grew far more organically in the animation. Removing the whole ugly duckling aspect from Stitch just straight up ignored some of the most heartfelt sequences in the film. Stitch is supposed to feel truly lost. They also messed up not having Stitch have to shamefully reveal his true alien form to Lilo and Naniz letting their relationship hit rock bottom before Stitch's triumphant and heroic rescue mission which, again, was far more cinematic and satisfactory back then. Jumba aiding Stitch and Nani was sorely missing here. And what's so tragic about the ending of the original that to re-do it would be so unfair? Nani and Lilo were receiving help that they never had, built a new family with people they went on this journey with, Nani was able to gather stability, make time to form a relationship with David, take vacations, etc. Because the cartoon didn't show her getting a degree in marine biology it's not good enough? It"s Lilo and Stitch, why ask for a re-tooled ending, we adults know what we came for. Who goes to Lion King and says change the circle of life because animals don't bow to lions?
ОтветитьIf you wouldn't make a sacrifice to raise/stay with your younger sibling, just say that.
ОтветитьI over all liked the movie. Hated the ending though. I disagree with realistic. People will sacrifice for family. I’m not familiar with Hawaii family dynamic but if anything like Latino culture family comes first and people will sacrifice rather than give up a member of their family, like Nani did with lilo.
ОтветитьNot an amazing movie but this was a a solid family movie as I saw it with mine. I actually preferred this to the animated film which I cannot say for any of the recent Disney live action remakes which were all different levels of poor. I appreciated what they did for the Nani character towards the end, made way more sense. Yes the Alien characters subplot is the weakest stuff but the rest of the film makes up for it with heart.
ОтветитьThe movie was off the hook
ОтветитьThe film was decent, but I don't understand why they made the changes. Nani would never go to California, jumba as the villain was weird, and Gantu should've been in the movie.
ОтветитьI was never interested in a Lilo and Stitch movie. I'm glad you guys enjoyed it though!
ОтветитьI strongly disagree that the live-action ending is better. In the animated version of Lilo & Stitch, the theme of "Ohana means family" is repeated throughout the film. The story revolves around family, and the ending strongly reinforces that message — don't give up on your loved ones because help will eventually come. Be resilient and weather the storm.
The live-action version completely throws that out by making Lilo seem like an obstacle that needs to be removed so Nani can be successful. That’s nonsense. I don’t care if the live-action ending is supposedly more "realistic" — it’s a fictional movie with aliens. It should feel realistic within the movie’s own world, not based on outside expectations.
Not to mention, the chemistry between Lilo and Nani in the animated version is far better developed. That makes the animated ending feel coherent and emotionally satisfying, unlike the live-action version.
Honestly, you should rewatch the animated version to see how an 85-minute film delivers better chemistry and pacing than a two-hour live-action mess.
I find all of these live-action animation adaptations pretty redundant on arrival, but I did go and see this one and felt like it got about 80% of the way to capturing the charm of the OG. Probably the first time I've watched one and actually felt like I was entertained without feeling like none of it worked and like I was watching some kind of Frankenstein's monster being resurrected. Jumba casting was wrong though, I agree.
ОтветитьGeneric ending like in almost every disney movies. Wish that they could’ve stayed with the original script instead of making her a student. I found that the original nani would relate to many compare to this newer version, but disney just being disney. I hate the this newer version of jumba and pleakley.
ОтветитьMovie so bad and suck balls... I rather watch the animated one a thousand times more before watching this again; the live action remake is such a bland, soulless, snooze fest of a movie.
ОтветитьIm not a fan of the live adaptations but I went to go see it with my girlfriend and we were hesitant at first lol but we actually enjoyed it not as good as the original obviously but it holds up we loved it💙
ОтветитьIk the neighbor did the voice of the old lady who was looking for someone to answer her ad in the original. Also i did see it i thought it was ok but it could have been better i think its funny that the guy that plays cobra bubbles who is married to Angela Bassett in real life had there movies of lilo and stitch and mission impossible competing with each other lol wonder if they made a bet to which 1 would be better. lol could someone please explain though what the neighbors role was in this was it just to get lilo sister go to college and watch her or was there something else I didn’t see.
ОтветитьThe jokes did not land for me. And it really didn't stick to the original story. I had to see it over again because of this and I've decided it has its flaws but it's still a good movie and a faithful adaptation.
ОтветитьJust got back from watching it. I love the original it's one of my favorite Disney movies of all time alongside Atlantis. I thought the movie was fine, didn't like the changes expect the ending which was ok and I get why they did that. Hate that they removed the ugly duckling scene and what they did to jumba. Overall I'm glad they made it just didn't love it like I believed I would
ОтветитьI was really excited for this one, but sadly in most of the ways the original was cute and endearing this one was extremely annoying. The ONE exception is Lilo, the little girl who played her was so cute and perfect for the role. Stitch mostly bugged me in this version which is too bad because there was definitely good here, but not much
ОтветитьGiving up your sister to CPS and LEAVING Hawaii to pursue marine biology is so fucking dumb
ОтветитьAs soon as they played dialogue over a lot of “he mele no lilo” I knew there was gonna be problems.
ОтветитьI also think that it ended the way it did because a TV show wasn't planned.
ОтветитьMy kids enjoyed it. I think the changes they made to this film were for kids; seeing the smile on my kids' faces was all that mattered 9/10 for me.
ОтветитьI’m ok with these opinions. I loved it.
ОтветитьI loved it ALMOST as much as the original…..this is how u do a live action remake
ОтветитьPeople would’ve been mad if they kept the original ending and they’re mad that it’s different….people just want to complain about something
ОтветитьI liked it but didn't love it. I thought it started off very strongly and the girls who played Lilo and Nani were great and so was Stitch. I thought they made some bizarre changes in which some of it didn't work for me, and the way some of it took place in the second and third act felt a little flat, chaotic and uneven.
I like Zach Galifianakis but I thought he was miscast as Jumba and didn't like that they made Jumba the villain. While it did feel a little weird not having Gantu in the film, I do get that it would be difficult to translate Gantu into live-action. I also didn't care for the new characters, even though they meant well but they came off a little annoying and unnecessary. The actors who played David, Cobra bubbles and Pleakley were fine, but kinda sidelined and underused, I didn't hate the ending again. I appreciated what they were going for but thought it was a bizarre decision to leave Lilo with Nani's friendly neighbor for Nani to proceed to leave Hawaii entirely, moving away to California to pursue a collegiate Marine Biology program. Overall I enjoy it
Movie is great. Animated movie is great. They share the same DNA but exist on their own and are their own thing.
ОтветитьI Had Good Time With Lilo & Stitch Too
ОтветитьDid everybody just forget how in the original Nani not only grew and potentially got in a relationship and also had help from the two aliens with raising Lilo and stitch which served as a sort of Mrs. Doubtfire or Alfred pretty logical ending to me to say somebody selfishly chasing their own dreams is the logical conclusion doesn’t seem logical to me
ОтветитьEnding is awful
ОтветитьI'm sorry but why are they saying the Nani from the animated version isn't a human being? Here characterisation in that film is bloody fantastic.
ОтветитьPeople just want to be mad at something. Nani didn’t just throw Lilo away to random families in the foster care the system. She allowed her to be raised by a close family friend and neighbor who was already helping Nani raise her. She also has that device that allows her to jump through a portal to her at any time. Lilo was not “left behind” nor was she “forgotten” especially when she encouraged Nani to go to school.
The movie itself is just ok. The pacing is absolutely horrible.
I am not Hawaiian, but born and raised in Hawaii. For Nani to give up Lilo undermines the very definition of ohana. The native hawaiian people/kanaka maoli had their lands taken from them. For disney to send out a message that a native Hawaiian will have a better life if they move away from their homeland, to the mainland is a HORRIBLE message.
ОтветитьTo all the people in the comments saying people don't actually want changes to these movies, there's making changes and then there's missing the freaking point. This remake doesn't get the point the original was going for with Nani and Lilo. They ignored what was needed for the characters and shoehorned in an ending that'd be deemed more "socially acceptable."
ОтветитьI'm not a kid but I thought the film was just okay enjoyed it but i wouldn't watch it again
ОтветитьBad movie imo
ОтветитьI think people have to see it as this isn’t our movie, this movie is for the new generation of kids we had our movie and show and games the younger generation got this film. My theater was packed the whole weekend was sold out and seeing people who grew up with this film took their kids to see this one and everyone had a great time to be honest seeing my girl and her little sister bond over this movie made me realize this movie is for the sisters the ones who had to leave home to fallow their dreams but still spend time with their siblings
ОтветитьAt the end of the day, this movie was made for kids. I went to watch it with my little sister and all the kids in the theater were laughing and clapping through out the movie. Kids are loving this film, but adults are complaining about it since they grew up on the animated film. I personally didn’t care about the animated film growing up, so I personally enjoyed this live action remake.
ОтветитьSo Ohana means nothing in the movie. That was the whole narrative of the movie in the animated one.
ОтветитьI like everything that was Lilo & Stitch. I do miss Captain Gantu being in the live action (also just to see what he might've look like too. Bummer😢). Here's hoping they could do a sequel with Stitch's cousins if & when it does good enough in the box office to have a talk of doing one.
ОтветитьOhana means family and family means abandoning your sister to go study marine life …. YOU LIVE IN HAWAII!!!!!
ОтветитьShe lives in Hawaii, she didn’t have to leave to study marine biology 🤦🏽♂️
ОтветитьThe ending made sense in the original. In the original, Stitch was owned by Lilo and the family was given protection by the Galactic Authority. Bubbles (being the social worker and former CIA) allowed the family to stay together due to Galactic Authority.
ОтветитьI Actually Saw It On Memorial Day with my best friend and we had a great time and we really enjoyed it 🩵💙🩵🌺🩵💙🩵 I even cosplayed as Lilo too 😊 But I do agree with you both I don’t like what they did with Jamba’s character it just didn’t work and everything with Lilo and Stitch was as you said pure gold 🩵💙🩵🌺🩵💙🩵😊
ОтветитьOhana means family, and family means giving them up to CPS...
ОтветитьTo be fair if you have never seen the original then you would probably think the movie is OK. It’s only when you compare to the original that the movie is dog shit
ОтветитьSorry I know my neighbor for years but I would not leave my little brother with them to go work on myself. Sorry but my family comes first regardless of money
Ответить
