I hear it all the time. I'm just shake my head. I should mention that I drive a 13.5' tall 8.5' wide and 70'+ long vehicle. But they still don't see me.

Surprising analysis on the first case. The rider looks like he had time to slow down and stop before reaching the white Suburban. I would have stopped and let the guy go. Never would I have continued to ride in front of him. Meanwhile, great job Dan. Super helpful.

Love the content and usually agree with everything. But the video with the 2 stroke dirt bike you mentioned rolling off to use engine braking, but on a 2 stroke there is no engine braking. Its also likely hes keeping revs high so when he dips left he can still be in the power band. Sounds like a 125 2 stroke. He needs that power band.

I've been riding the streets around the San Francisco Bay Area since the early 80s. and at this point in time I don't even get slightly angry anymore at stupid people in cars. I expect them to cut me off and to be on their phones, It's just the way things are now and flipping out over it isn't going to change anything. It has gotten a lot worse since the Advent of the cell phone. I have one piece of advice for you New Riders,
don't take the green light for granite and you will Live Another Day.

#1: Why would you continue in front of a vehicle moving across your path? The fact that bike's tires chirped indicates that HE, too, was not paying attention.
#2: Biker returns the offense by cutting off the car. Insane! Bike was cut off because it overtook to the right in car's blind spot.
#3: Interesting. We feel entitled to share lanes with cars but get really hacked when they do it to us.
#5: Driving between cars and curb is not "lane filtering." Highly dangerous and illegal likeky even in Somalia.

I will never understand why people get in front of someone who almost hit you or is driving erratically. As a rider I always stay behind them so I can 100% see what they are doing.

Important tip: Always yield to bigger vehicle than your motorcycle(practically ALL). Stop imposing your right of way; you’re not a traffic enforcer. Not worth the risk getting hurt or getting shot at.
Never assume that the other driver can see you. Just yield and be happy to be alive.

I really hope you DO get those trauma kits out... I have a couple thoughts (suggestions not to be taken TOO seriously)...

1. Maybe three or four "levels" for the equipment. Obviously, there should be a standard held for the "basic" kit, a bare minimum of stuff any rider should know how to use... Then a little better equipped with a little more complicated stuff for "Intermediate"... and add a few more for the "Advanced" kit... Finally a practically stocked EMT's grade and label it "Pro", meaning a professional should be able to dip right there and know exactly what it is, where it is, and how to grab and use it all... Just a thought, because in most cases, there's more than one person with some first-aid knowledge (as there should be) and in the case of a "pile up" or with multiple victims, there's likely to be a lot more of "the usual" kinds of things, so just having the extra "basics" covered would still help almost no matter how big a mess got made...

2. Maybe don't just specialize all the trauma-packs for use by motorcyclists... Nothing against categorizing each "level" with a kit for someone with a full-on vehicle, and then a second for Bikes (smaller, but useful)... We ALL share the road, and it can be difficult finding a reasonably reputable kit or product for any/every purpose...

3. Include at least some "cheat-sheets" for directions and tips on some of the more sophisticated tech' in each kit. Some of us have had first-aid classes, and even CPR training, but we might not have been briefed on the latest version of "bleed-stop" or what the hell ever "wound packing" is... A diagram and a couple basic rules could be the difference between life and death...
To go with that, a list (just somewhere) included in each kit of the companies from whence all the supplies are obtained for that kit. Not just an invoice, but more as a reference to be able to go online, or pick up a phone and make orders to re-stock the kit with those products...

I bring the list of companies up, because those products were already packed into the kit, so they're already (usually) designed to fit... OR rather, the kit's designed to contain them. One of my personal worst issues in re-stocking a kit is that I've bought was I assumed was the right stuff, but the packaging is all different and without cutting it, I can't fit it into the kit... AND it's medical, so I can't just go randomly cutting packages without ruining the sterility!!!

Anyways, just take me with a grain of salt (proverbially)... Just a few observations on what's made getting a "premade kit" more of a pain in the backside than just concocting my own... ;o)

#1: Note the positions and length of the shadows on the ground. It's possible that the vision of the driver of the pickup was partially impaired by the bright sunlight at a low angle.

These people takes "assume people around you are dumb" advice quite literally. Just because assuming another people are dumb, doesn't mean you become the smartest ones on the road and act self righteously.

I hope you make a motorcycle specific first aid kit. I had to make my own with a starter kit, additions and bag. Please make your motorcycle first aid kit red and waterproof, hopefully with videos explaining how to use some of the trickier elements.

With all vehicles, big trucks in particular pay attention to the distance between front and rear wheels from lane lines. When you were waving your hand to describe waiting 2s for truck to decide it was clear already the decision was made to change lanes, review it.
