Hey man it maybe 6 years ago but please respond, when this was happening, did you have little to no oil pressure on the gauge?? mine is same exact symptoms just no oil pressure, btw oil changed and does have oil
ОтветитьI replaced my main timing chain and tensioner and did gallery gaskets but still get a rattle sound for about a second ONLY on cold start. Im thinking one of the secondary tensioners is going bad. Any thoughts ?
ОтветитьNicely done!
ОтветитьBy any chance did u have a loud ticking noice ?? Or why did u replace it
ОтветитьIs it cause of long time intervals on changing oil ?
ОтветитьSo whats the noise sounds like ?
ОтветитьPresuming your 350z is from the mid 2000s - other than the obvious displacement difference, is the VQ35DE the exact same as the VQ40DE?
ОтветитьI have a 2010 FX35 with the same engine i believe, how difficult it is to change the water pump? Can it be done without removing the Engine front cover behind the pulleys?
ОтветитьI AM having same issue and a code of P0011 on Bank 1.....secondary chain is quite loose but does not rattle.
i wonder if this may be related .?? P0011 ( bank 1 camshaft timing over advanced)???
Nice
ОтветитьIs it a rattle or a ticking, im getting a ticking after warm up or about ten minutes of driving on my murano.
Ответитьhow to differentiate VQ35DE exhaust valve lifters from intake valve lifters
ОтветитьWait so your telling me that they are supposed to be super still and holding oil pressure
ОтветитьI took my cover off and yours is Same exact side as mine but I was hearing a ticking sound.
ОтветитьYou did the wrong job in the timing chain its not on point
ОтветитьThose are ur cam chain tensioners
ОтветитьUse only 5W30 castrol magnatec oil
ОтветитьWhat code were you getting on the engine light? Would really appreciate a response
ОтветитьI would like to know if this solved your problem, as my upper tensioners are as you've described in your video. I assumed that because they face different DIRECTIONS (pass side down; driver's side up), that the driver's side's oil would leak out and depressurize, leaving only spring tension. I cannot see any other reason for the rattle on startup, which I've been holding the key in 'start' a second or two after the engine fires to diminish (which works). I'm wondering if my noise is not the timing chain/tensioners at all, but a cam sprocket - though I haven't gotten any VVT codes.
ОтветитьI have a question for anyone who can answer it...my 04 g35x sedan has the timing chain rattle as well...now my question is...do you have to take off the top of the engine meaning the head to do the timing chain job....because I know the chains sit in the front of the car....because im considering having them fixed....any suggestions???...greatly appropriated
Ответитьyou think ? its either u know or you dont theres no i think or maybe
ОтветитьI have the 04 g35x sedan awd with that 3sec rattle at start up I don't no what it could be the tentener or the guides do u have a shop I can bring it to I'm from Philadelphia I want somebody that know what they r doing to fix it it so many scammers mechanics around idk were to take it
ОтветитьIm at this point now, same problem as you on the same side, il replace all tensioners ,i did a bit of detective work to find the problem,im damn glad it was as i thought because its a big job getting to them
ОтветитьHey dude. So did you replace the tensioner and it went away? What exactly were your syptoms, in detail
ОтветитьGood video! Im working diagnosing and fixing a timing noise on my 06 350z and I didn't think to look at the other two tensioners till I saw this video!
