Good conversation. But as a trader involved in the Indian equity market, since 1990, I do believe that almost all parties involved in the trading activities including the Regulator, Exchanges, full time brokers, discount brokers, finfuencers, all are set to and mainly interested in denting the hard earned profit, by small real investors, who by heart, might NOT prefer to trade in the derivative market, but as I believe, they are compelled to opt for particularly in the stock or index options, just because of non-availability of low cost cash equity stocks trading.
Most of the discount brokers have, no doubt, done really a good job by offering totally brokerage free in the cash equity stock segment.
I would urge to those, who may prefer to have a real survey of small investors who might prefer to trade only in non-risky cash equity stocks, are more tempted to go for risky trading of the stocks or index options trading, merely due to low cost of transaction only.
If the Regulator, the exchanges, full service provider brokers and most importantly, the Government department who extract/dent most part of the transactions( might be a profitable trade OR a loss making trade, by a retailer, if they seriously think about some steps to bring down the transaction cost of mainly for cash equity stocks trading, I firmly believe that most of retailers might NOT prefer to go for any derivative trading.
It is my own experience and belief, and may or may not be binding/ liked by/to anyone else. All traders are at a liberty to choose their own style at their own risk & cost.
सोचने वाली बात तो जरूर है !!!
