I found myself reading a lot of books by asian authors this year! This month I've been reading Marigold Mind Laundry and The Mysteries of Udolpho.

I put myself on a book buying ban this year in order to make a dent in my TBR 😅 shockingly, it's worked. I only caved twice, once on my birthday and once after a forced week of no reading at all! 😳 so hard...😱 So there are books that I bought last year, like Slewfoot, Bone Witch, and My Best Friend's Exorcism that I am reading now. Spooky vibes of course :) But I cheat a bit since I have the kindle unlimited subscription and borrow books when my current TBR picks don't appeal. I picked out a few I want to read for November like What the River Knows and What are you Looking for in the Library.

And! Spotify has audiobooks so I listened to Pride and Prejudice at work. I am so very glad I did. I feel reading it would have put me off but I adored the audiobook. Was thinking about doing Fourth Wing next but I find there are certain books I want to physically read first. Isn't that funny? Just a big NOPE from my heart.

Question, why do you write in the books is it because you not what you read, I would like to know 😊

A couple (or three) days ago, Blackwells warned me that my preordered copy of ML Wang's book had been sent. It doesn't come out until next week as you know, but perhaps they got their copies earlier and so they started sending them. It's where I buy all the books after comparing prices with the big A. They are free shipping to many countries, Spain included, and they might take a little longer than the A to arrive but it's worth it! Would you like me to show it when it arrives? I've also ordered other books that will arrive tomorrow and next tuesday. A romance, a cosy autumnal and a Japanese classic (Akutagawa).
Speaking of Japanese books I have my eye on "Run With The Wind" by Shion Miura as it's been translated into English finally. I love Shion Miura's books and this one in particular had an anime adaptation that I absolute love and cried with, it's about friendship and challenges and enduring pain and achieving goals as a team. It is set in the annual marathon race Hakone-Eikiden that takes place between Hakone and Tokio right after New Year's and I thought it would be nice to get a copy and read it in January, would you be interested? It' a little bit expensive (less so on Blackwells than on A) but I'm willing to make an effort and sacrifice other things.
The temperatures here are dropping by the day and it's almost always raining, but your videos are like a nice mug of hot chocolate. It keeps you warm and keeps your spirits high. Thank you!

I'm honestly killing it with my reading goals this year. I've read more than 100 books!
There are a few books coming out this year still that I'm excited for (Blood Over Bright Haven is one of them; I can't wait to get my finished copy!): The Last Hour Between Worlds by Melissa Caruso (I read an ARC copy of it earlier this year and it's been one of my favorite reads so far! It comes out Nov 19th, at least in the US); The Teller of Small Fortunes by Julie Leong (I've been hearing really good things); and Heavenly Tyrant by Xiran Jay Zhao (coming out in December).

Thank you for the spoiler warning! Have you read 'Norwegian Wood'? That's the only Murakami I've read and there were 3 things I found very offputting about it. I've heard that one of those i.e. the female characters/the way he writes them is problematic in quite a few of his books. It's putting me off but I want to read most things you read because they sound pretty good, so what are you thoughts on that issue?

The Dagger and The Flame was a random find for a prompt I had and I went in blind. That said I flew through the audiobook on this at normal speed. i kept making excuses to listen to it. So good!!! I need more books in this world so much. This will end up being a Trophy purchase for me.
