Simulation of sloshing in water tank due to earthquake is carried out in OpenFOAM under the following conditions:

Size of tank is taken from a water tank constructed in Hong Kong with a full height baffle wall (middle simulation). The top and bottom simulations are to see effects of different configurations in the tank.
- Size of tank = 13.25m(w) x 5.8m(h)
- Water depth = 5m

Details of earthquake used in this simulation are as follows:
- Date of earthquake: 13 Jan 2001
- Region: El Salvador
- ML: 7.7
- Duration: 74s
- Horizontal peak ground acceleration (PGA): 702.4cm/s2
- Vertical PGA: 431.7cm/s2
- Data source: Virtual Data Center (https://strongmotioncenter.org/vdc/scripts/event.plx?evt=650) processed by USGS

It is interesting to see that full height baffle wall decreases period of sloshing and thus higher sloshing height. By lowering baffle wall to water surface, it provides effective energy dissipation and damps out sloshing of water.
