Had a younger black bear hibernating in a large drainage pipe on my property. The random heateave melted all the snow and turned his den into a flood zone. Poor guy had to wake up and move.

Hibernation is when an animal’s vital signs drop to almost zero and is temperature dependent. Only cold-blooded creatures can do that. Bears just go into a deep slumber (due to a scarcity of food) and live off their body fat.

I can’t count the amount of times i wish our work culture operated like a bears. Work during the warm months hibernate during the winter.
