Landing in Puerto Vallarta can feel overwhelming with so many people grabbing for your attention and money. Normally, I steer clear of the crowd, but this time, a guy named Germaine managed to rope me in with his pitch. After a quick spiel about timeshares, he shared a game-changing tip. if I walked about 5 minutes to Hotel One, I could catch an Uber for a fraction of the cost.

I decided to give it a shot, and let me tell you, it was totally worth it! Instead of paying $45 USD for a taxi, my Uber cost just over $10 USD. The pickup spot is easy to find: it’s right in front of the Mex Car Rentals, just past the Avis drop-off, and directly before Hotel One. You can even spot Hotel One from the airport as a guide.
