Tunisian Karim Jabbari is an abstract calligraphy and light artist whose work is inspired by antiquated Arabic scriptures. Using an SLR camera and a flashlight, he captures a calligraphy of light that hangs in a space like an artwork. Jabbari travelled to Western Australia in early 2016 for FORM’s PUBLIC festival. The Core comprises a new series of his light calligraphy works, created in the dramatic landscapes of the Great Southern region with the assistance of Western Australian filmmaker Chad Peacock and
photographer Bewley Shaylor. Film by Peacock Visuals.
