It will have Liquid Voice, so all sound moves become Water Type, could a Water Absotb Pokemon be of any use?

Will be included, however we have to remember this Mon can learn Energy Ball.

I can see it using Rain Dance and Misty Terrain at the start. Boosting both types of moves. Being able to change the weather and field may be a must.

I’m thinking maybe I’m gonna try out a tinkaton. Swords dance, iron head(I think it learns that), gigaton hammer, and idk a support move of some kind. Steel Tera and shell bell

Any Pokemon with Throat Chop would be helpful to negate Primarina's sound-based moves.

primarina REALLY grew on me once i saw the shiny variant. ...so then i went go hunt one down and was lucky and got a female :p

Well, it is going to have Liquid Voice so maybe a Pokémon with Soundproof would help,, or maybe use Venusaur, he will resist water and fairy, but Primarina will probably have Ice Beam, Maybe Iron Crown

That’s kinda boring. They didn’t give it a different typing. Idk what other type to give it but it’s more interesting seeing them get a type that fits them but they don’t normally have. Usually a fitting type that could be their 3rd one. Like dragon Charizard, flying Decidueye, ice Empoleon, etc.
Psychic? A lot of sound moves are normal so that could work too since it’s a singer. Ice seems overdone having 2 water starters with it.

Might be worth pulling out the toxricity again.

Definitely one of my least favourite starters, but since I missed the others besides blastoise, charizard and meganium I’m still looking forward to it

Primarina's hidden ability is soo bad when you know to play around it that this raid will be harder if gamefreak chooses to build around not using it. Any pokemon with water absorb, soundproof or throat chop will make this trivial otherwise. Though I might try brute forcing it with stellar tera, contrary Serperior first.

Wait, they're not making it an off-type tera type?! I am actually very surprised. I would have expected an Ice Tera Primarina with Blizzard or something. or Psychic Tera with psychic or stored power shenanigans

These Event Raids are pretty much my “Paldean Battle Tower”, when they drop!

I wish they'd give us another legendary 7 star raid like the MewTwo. Getting a mystery gift designed to take down a specific raid was the most hardcore event they released so far.

I'm thinking Water Absorb Vaporion with Tera Steel to resist it's Fairy and Ice attacks and Sunny Day to eliminate it's water type attacks for allies. Calm Mind will be the best set up move, and Protect will be useful for the one turn Water Absorb is shut down. Tera Blast might work well as a primary attacking move.

This could be tough. Empoleon might be a good counter. Competitive helps counteract Charm and Moonblast and Primarina doesn't learn a broad range of other moves. Like, Energy Ball, Shadow Ball, Ice Beam, Blizzard? Sing could be problematic.

Will wait patiently for the most recommended builds for this raid on the actual day when it goes live. Usually do my builds based of Lee's actual testing of the mons for the raid.

First 7 star starter who’s tera is their original type. This thing will get the full STAB tera boost.

I get the feeling one of the Water Absorb Clodsire builds I already have would be ok for this event when mixed with a team online. It's a good thing Recover is a possible egg move for it so that it cuts down on the need for heal cheers if extra healing is necessary. The only concern is when the ability would be removed and lead to a potentially devastating opening from it. I'd love to hear some opinions to get started early on any potential egg moves that might be helpful/ necessary for a Pokémon build that could be better
