It's like these filmmakers are taking the saying "Good things always come in 3s" to ridiculous heights.

No, not everything has to come in 3. It can come in 2, at best. Much of the time at worst. Sometimes, though, 1 is enough. There's nothing wrong with standalone stories.

Adding a new character in the last instalment was a huge risk & didn't pay off. Having that new character take over from Michael was a huge mistake. How did DGG mess this us so bad?

I think the different vibe in Ends works really well. I got the impression that this film is/was inspired by Friedkin's Rampage and that Michael played the role of either an individual's or a collective's delusion. The actual Michael died at the end of the time line for Halloween Kills. That might explain why Laurie is so chill when the film starts.

The Exorcist film is actually suppose to be a direct sequel to The Exorcist, which is even worse than a remake, because its the same thing they did with Halloween. Not stoked anymore.

DGG is a literal hack. Ends took plot points from 4-6 and claimed it as it's own without being interesting or kooky.

As a huge fan of Halloween and The Exorcist, I agree with Mark. Of course, it's great to have sequels and they'll always draw interest. But a trilogy for both Halloween and The Exorcist is excessive. Plus, The Exorcist is not as franchise material as Halloween is. I think Blumhouse should've seen how the Exorcist reboot did before committing to a whole trilogy.

I took your opinion on board, but having now seen it, I disregard your point of view. I thought it was great. Lots of influences taken from Christine, and felt like a good set up for a continuation of the franchise - reminded of Child’s Play and Friday 13th in parts too. Also, having Myers more in the background, made this more of a surprising, memorable stand out sequel.

It's pointless comparing any sequel to the original film from 1978. If you do that you're setting yourself up to be disappointed. It wasn't scary, it had its moments. I liked that they were trying to do something different. I wasn't expecting anything near the original, I went in with zero expectations and enjoyed it. Shame that others didn't, I don't think it's necessary for haters to bash people who enjoyed the film. People hated thd original Halloween when it came out, it got horrible reviews save one from the Village Voice that made people realise how cleverly made a film it was. There's always going to be people who don't share the same opinion, and that's totally okay.

Really sad that Mark didn't get something deeper out of this. The more I watch it, the more fascinated I become with it. It's absolutely transcendent and, unlike The Last Jedi, does the 'defies expectations' stuff in a very smart way.

The only way of enjoying this film is as a 'The Room' - like disaster. I honestly couldn't believe how hilariously terrible it was.

Wow...that dude is a total...downer...lol Are all brits that way?? The original Halloween....definitely a Gen X movie ....lol and the following movies. It's a classic series. Like Jason, Freddie.....some peeps don't get it.

Agree. There's probably about 3 memorable scenes in 'Halloween Ends', the tongue scene being the best of them. That scene is over within a couple of minutes, but there's another 2 hours to get through.

the granddaughter gotta be one of the worst nurses ever. Going on a motorcycle with no helmet and running away from someone bleeding out. This movie was horrible, what a way to disrespect a classic horror villain. got his ass kicked so much.

I never understood why there was a sequel to the original Halloween. There is no more story but little did I realise when I was a kid watching horror films that studios only care about making money so of course there is more story. Silly me eh!

I just watched Halloween Ends and i enjoyed it. Is it a classic? No. Is it scary or full of tension? No. I thought it was an okay film though. 🤷‍♀️
