Gears waste 15 to 20 percent of powrr, they are too heavy and expensive

But that gear will deprive me of a hard slog uphill against the wind, gasping for breath, standing/bouncing on the pedals, breaking a sweat, dismounting and walking up the really steep bit. No fancy electric bike is going to steal my vital exercise!! ;-))
