Just kids | Inclusive Education: a friendly environment for fulfillment the potential of every child

A model of integrated learning has been introduced into the education system of Belarus. Subsequently, it became obvious: it is not enough to simply open the doors of a regular school or a kindergarten for a child with special needs. Inclusive education, being a logical continuation of the system of integrated one, offers more advanced and flexible approaches to the organization of the learning process and interaction with each child.

The project "Inclusive Education: a friendly environment for fulfillment the potential of every child" has been active in Belarus since 2022. It was initiated by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). The idea behind the project is to develop practical mechanisms for including children and youngsters with special needs into a common social and educational space and to improve the quality of their lives. Within the framework of the project, the National Strategy for the Development of Inclusive Education until 2030 was developed, as well as a plan for its implementation. Irina Mironova, UNICEF Belarus Education Expert revealed the details.

In fact, inclusive education is necessary not only for people with special needs, but also for the whole society to become more cohesive, successful and happy! After all, everyone can change the world for the better, and it is much easier to do it together!
