How is the Guardian ranking compiled?
This rating is the most accurate and impartial, since during voting it assumes a comprehensive, objective approach. In this work, the expert group is selected by 124 specialists representing 45 countries. They are sent a list of more than three hundred of the most worthy players from around the world.

Each expert anonymously votes for 40 football players, ranking them in place, starting with the first. In this case, all game indicators and achievements of each of the applicants are taken into account. The most important criterion is successful performances in the Champions League and for your national team, as well as a place in the national championship.

The best football player according to one or another specialist receives 40 points. The next one on the list is 39 points and so on until 1 point. As a result, after summing up the points, I compiled a consolidated list of the strongest players on the planet.

The results of counting the 100 best football players in the world are traditionally published by The Guardian in the second half of December. The top list presents the assessment based on the results of the year ending.
