I just watched because I was thinking about buying a heat pump, but I have to say as far as information/minute of video, you are at the top. I bookmarked this just in case I, or anybody I know, ever needs to learn more about how heat pumps work. Thank you.

You’re talking way too fast, we’re in class and we’re trying to understand what you’re talking about. We need more breakdown explanations. This is not thorough enough to send someone out on a “mission impossible.” Please provide more details, thank you,

This is amazing!!
Installed a Nest and it's not detecting W wire. Heat pump seems to work but sometimes all a sudden my air gets cold.
At least now I have a good understanding of the system. Very well done.

I have a similar system and runs on heat pump at -33F. After that it's supposed to use the electric elements but I don't think I will ever see that happening. If your temperature is -33F then you need a new place to live

My AC is cold and my heat pump is warm but when outdoor temp. drops to below 30s the indoor temp. drops as well. The technician told me that my condensor needs to be replaced but he then suggested that I mind as well replace the entire hvac system. Can anyone share with me what your thoughts are? Many thanks.

Do you need a 2 stage heat thermostat for 15 kw heat pack only using heat strips and no heat pump . So does the sequencers stage the heating or so I need a call for 2 stage heating for the rest of 5 kw to come on

answer a question , does the compressor create heat ? what KW rating is the compressor for say a 3 bedroomed property and also how often does the compressor kick in ? nobody ever mentions the electrical consumption and the flc , minimum size is around 7 KW and that is a lot of load used which you have to pay for , all the talk of how it works means nothing if you dont say the running costs in cold places

So If I have a heat pump and i turn the heat on... am I circulating fresh air from outside into my place along with the heat thats being pumped into my home? And if its the ac only sucks air out of the house... no fresh air is being circulated inside right? Im asking because i've had to seal off every single vent door and window in my place because of 24/7 nasty smelling skunk smoking neighbors and want to know when i turn on the heat is that a way that fresh air gets into my place without having to open the windows?

@xisotopex
@xisotopex - 11.01.2023 00:10

I have an issue that happens intermittently where I can hear the heat pump turn on (dont know if it is just the fan or compressor or both) when the thermostat turns the system on, but the air handler does not come on. so if I am trying to cool, the temp in the house continues to rise because the air handler never comes on, and of course if I am trying to heat, the temp in the house will continue to drop... is it the start run capacitor or something else? sometimes if I leave system off for a while it will come back on as it is supposed to, sometimes if I set the target temp on the thermostat 10 degrees or more than the inside house temp, it seems to sometimes force it to come on.

Most informative video on heat pump systems I’ve seen. Most others causally mention the heating strips and move on. Others are giving more details about the individual components and how to buy them (from themselves, of course) than explaining what and why they are in the system. Thanks.
