How Does Homeschooling Affect A Child?

As many of our Children have moved to an E-learning platform or switch to homeschooling during these covid times, our therapist at Fox Valley have been asked how homeschooling will affect their child.

Well, the answer will be different from child to child.

There are many students who thrive in a home schooling and homeschooling environment as the stress of being in school is too much for others.

The isolation and the lack of social connection is difficult.

The biggest predictor of success is dependent on how the grown up in the student's life approaches and models their reaction and emotions throughout the process As the adults in their life approach home schooling or learning as an opportunity to teach resilience and problem solving when difficulties emerge, show your student how to move through the difficult moment by asking for the things they need to cope.

Lastly celebrate the winds that come along from home schooling.

Even if it's just more time together, gratitude in all shapes and forms will have a profound effect on your students functioning.
