There is something seriously wrong with our society when a person can be detained without bond and without legal representation. Being in the country illegally has always been a misdemeanor, but the private prison industry lobbyists pushed for harsher laws and longer sentences. Propaganda in the form of hate allows you to look the other way when human rights are violated. This is a pilot program waiting for push back. If they don't get it, we will be next in line.

I don't really get it, however. Are they all illegal, or just the man who has been detained? If the rest of his family are legal residents, then he really should just be put through the immigration process formally and made an actual citizen.
