In my organization Pega Application is slow, however, didn't get a chance to open PAL and see what causing the issue. Every time what we observe that either SOAP request is taking too long to respond or there is some problem AWS. Now after your thought will check in PAL whether Database is also the culprit or not. I have started my career as a .NET developer so yes I agree with you that different work type should have a different table for performance point of view.
