Expectation VS Reality: Guitar Distortion

I just got my first foot pedal and finally got a power adapter for it and put in the right connector just to turn it on to an ocean of interference noise. I found out though that turning off the distortion on your amp first will get rid of that.

How do you play that domination riff so cleanly😢

As a black metal fan, I love this.

Most amps have a "mute" button on them. Its like muscle memory for me now, that I hit that mute button before plugging in my axe. I hate that awful sound.

I'm an idiot and use P90 pickups since the only guitar I own has them. They sound incredible with distortion, but if I stop playing for even a second, the horrible squealing feedback is unreal.

A noise gate is essential, and a ultra high fidelity instrument cable like the Boss Premium BIC-P series models, is totally worth the investment, especially with their lifetime warranty. This is assuming you have already resolved any grounding issues the guitar may have.

Thank God I've learned how to make a good tones, before buying my electric guitar etc. I've just recorded my acoustic guitar and putted distortion on it. SOUNDED LIKE ASS. Also I was only a noobie in this. Times through I putted amp and eq in that. Sounded like ass. Few times later, it sounded maybe well I'd say, not bad, but I was very limited in playing, so from that time I wanted an electric guitar and amp and other stuff. By the way in those times I'm was like year of just fan home producing songs. EQs and effects etc, and now using a normal gear and experience, I making good tones.

How to fix that buzz?

Get a good cable and it stops a lot/all of the hiss.

But yet the first one IS reality. So it can be done.

I wanted to play metal and I started out with my dad’s beginner guitar (quite old) and it was a sss strat with trash pickups in it and when when I bought a metal core pedal this was the result 😂

Anyways, here’s how to get a metal tone on electric guitar: step one put the pick up thing all the way down to the last pick up step to twist the knob on the guitar fort to the left. Make sure it’s all the way and then twist it to the right hook your guitar up to your amplifier and turn on the gain to 10 or 12

Maybe I’m not cranking it high enough 🤷. I play a humbucker guitar though a ds1 and sometimes an mxr supercomp before it and then into my Crate GX-15R. I sound a lot more like the “expectation” side and it’s almost too loud for my wife, downstairs. I’m planning on getting a better amp next year, but this little thing sounds WAY better than my Fender Frontman 15G, which might be worth double the crate amp.
