I dunno what to say about this drama. My thoughts are so conflicting and my feelings about this are very complicated
Lemme sort out my thoughts a bit more and update my comment

Update (after 12 hours) :
Ok this is one of those dramas where I would have hesitated to watch first after reading the comments (because I know most of the comments gonna be bad and negative), but still would have searched for a comment that explains and summarizes the plot to know the story and if there's no explanation/ summarization comment, I would have watched it in (super) fast forward mode
or even I would have skipped the story
But the problem is when I clicked the video there was only one comment complaining about the background music being loud
So I started to watch it, but after watching for 20 min I could see where the story is going, but still now that I have started to watch I wanna know the ending, so I watched it in (normal) fast forward mode because it was a hard watch not an easy one
It was really a frustrating watch, the first half of the movie literally made be depressed

So lemme breakdown my thoughts
This story has more cons than pros

The relationship between FL and ML is not healthy at all (at least first half of the drama) it was abusive and toxic both physically and mentally
THE ENTIRE PLOT REVOLVES AROUND MISCOMMUNICATION OR HAVING NO COMMUNICATION AT ALL
Yeah from the very beginning to last 10 min, the story keeps dragging because of no communication and misunderstanding

Okay I get it why ML turned into what he was in the very beginning, but he was very abusive and toxic towards FL all because she is the daughter of the person who made that car accident. I mean having a dislike is acceptable, but he was being very very unreasonable. Even if FL's dad is the reason why he missed that business project, lost his ability walk and SFL's alleged death (which he wasn't and it was all a conspiracy by SFL and SML), how could FL can be held responsible? why should she be punished for her dad's mistake? that's so stupid to think that way, very unreasonable
He was abusing her emotionally and physically. That's not love bro. That's never love. And the humiliation she had to endure is just so unbearable. He made her break up with her bf and even humiliated her in front of him and he didn't even let them have a clean break up, they had to part ways in bad terms with so much resentments. That's really pathetic of ML.
yeah he did take care of FL's affairs and problems secretly but that doesn't justifies his actions and behaviors towards FL

Next FL. I really feel bad for her. I feel very sorry for her. But of course I am also mad at her. In real life, if one's parents are seriously ill and the bills are more than what you could afford, treat what you can and try as best you can, no need to sell yourself to someone. That's not normal at all. I know I get it ML is the love of her life, but still can't she see it's not the same person she fell in love with, he has changed.
But thankfully she could rebuilt herself with the the help of good people, it wasn't the best character development but it is still better than having no character development at all

Dr. Shen is my fav character in the drama. I really like him. I love how much responsible he is both as a doctor and as an adult. I admire how he was so kind to FL and kept their relationship pure till the very end. He eventually became FL's adoptive brother. I think that's the best part in the whole drama
Next Grandpa Long. FL's and Dr' Shen's Adoptive Grandpa. I just loved this dynamic soo much
❤‍🩹 Yeah in the whole story what I loved the most is FL's adoptive family and their dynamic ❤‍🩹
I loved the brother-sister bond between Dr. Shen and FL
also the grandpa-granddaughter bond between Mr. Long and FL
I was soo beautiful and very heartwarming to see. I loved how they had FL's back when she was at her lowest and how they trusted, supported and respected FL the whole time without letting her hand go. I loved it so much and it was so relieving to see how FL got to have a home surrounded by good, kind and caring people in a long time since her mom and dad passed away.

It might sound weird but I also loved Brothers-in-law dynamic between ML and Dr. Shen. I know it's a bit out of nowhere but I kinda adored their bond

ML's assistant is really a very loyal and a good person. I loved how he would speak up for FL whenever he felt ML is being too much. I really felt sorry for him when he was being scolded by FL for leaving ML alone to do ML's errands in the latter part of the drama
Also ML's nanny, she is a nice person but she's being threatened by SFL so I do understand her mistakes
and I do give credits to ML for handling her family situation and letting her work with an ease without being threatened using her family

Okay now to the story
So FL had to endure so much pain and humiliation because ML thought FL's dad is the reason why he missed that business project, lost his ability walk and SFL's alleged death, But then SFL came back fine and well, still he didn't stop torture her because he was angry for losing the ability to walk. Then again he really could have done that in private when they are by themselves, but no he humiliated her in front of others too Even let others slandered her being a murderer's daughter when he killed none because nobody died in the car accident as SFL is alive. It didn't stop he kept punishing and blaming FL solely because he doesn't trust her and took SFL's words for what they are. The medicine thing really pissed me off. Bro if you doubt her so much, you could have investigated it properly using medical experts if you don't trust her and Dr. Shen. But no he just listened to SFL. Then what happened he just pushed her to suicide. Also he accused her of having several romantic affairs with several men without a thorough investigation and even humiliated her for sleeping with men for money
At one point she confront SFL and even tell ML that the Car accident was not her dad's fault but the way he responded really made me sooo frustrated
I know he did help her throughout this time by helping her mom' surgery without letting her know but that does not justify his actions

THANKFULLY SHE FOUND MR. LONG AND DR. SHEN AND BUILD AN ADOPTIVE FAMILY, what if, what if nobody was there? then what? what if she didn't have anyone by her side? wouldn't she have died for real? I am soo happy how Grandpa Long cleared her name of being a murderer and submitting evidence of self-defense and explaining the whole backstory of FL's kidnapping

Then after FL's comeback ML tried to redeem himself by being nicer, But this time she took a very domineering and a demanding persona whenever they came across each other, it is better than been an emotional pushover
I really dunno how to feel about the second part of the drama
I mean they are each other's love interests but they would never tell it out love till the last moment also they never care to solve the misunderstandings they have between each other when they clearly know the other person has misunderstood them
Ofc you don't have to explain yourself to other people, But in relationships you should explain yourself to the other person. Only then can you have a good bond between each other made out of love, understanding and respect

then in the 2nd half ML also finds out the real culprits behind the car accident but he never ever apologizes to FL for accusing her wrongfully
But yeah he did ask for forgiveness in general for his past behaviors towards her
Also it turns out he only promised to marry SFL because SFL tricked him to think they spend a night together and now ML has to be responsible. But he never explains that to FL whenever she asked why he is keep pestering FL when the one in his heart is SFL
Also FL too never said the one she loves and the one who gave her that ring is ML, instead she let him run wild guesses in his head.
I kinda loved how she made ML realize that she is not a weakling anymore by being firm in her decisions let it be having a second child to cure the leukemia of their first child or meeting the SML to discuss business (even tho he is bad person), because it let ML taste his own medicine of being arrogant and stubborn

Till the end they kept hurting and torturing each other with words, actions and behaviors, Only if they could have had a good talk with each, everything could have been solved in no time. Only if ML cared to do a full and thorough investigation behind his car accident, FL would have been treated with more respect by outsiders. Only if ML could have been more respectful and understanding towards FL, FL would have spend a little more time with her mom. Only if ML cared to explain his relationship with SFL to FL at least after the pregnancy, FL wouldn't have pushed to a place of despair and hopelessness. Only if FL and ML could have confessed their feelings, no third parties would have stirred up troubles between them.

It still didn't end properly there are many unsolved stuffs. FL's dad's name didn't get cleared, the public still regard him as a perpetrator.
FL's kidnappers didn't get punished. Also FL's ex-boyfriend (Meng Feng) still misunderstands FL (I know they broke up but they can still be on good terms without having resentments for wrong reasons).
