So basically, war built up the identity and inspiration for mecha
Well nowadays, with the world on the brink of another global conflict, mecha is likely to resurge
Giant Robots Will Never Die.
Reject Hentai, Embrace Eternity.
im doing my research module on giant robots, so this was a huuge help thank you so much >:D
ОтветитьDefinitely go visit the GUNDAm FACTORY at YOKOHAMA. Life shocking experience
ОтветитьOne can only hope that the impact of Armored Core VI revives the genre, not only in games, but anime. Bandai Namco would be remiss to not weigh the idea of producing a mecha or Armored Core show.
I love mecha, but it has to be done right. Let's hope it's a new day.
When was this fall it's still rising
ОтветитьGundam was my introduction into Mecha anime
ОтветитьMobile Suit g Gundam was my introduction to Gundam
ОтветитьActually seen quite a few good Mecha anime shows over the years. For example Broken Blade is it pretty good Mecha anime
ОтветитьGlad mecha is on the rise again
ОтветитьWhat, he said true on the theme of mecha is too much war, and most of audience want something new, they could of focus on isekai or boxing or racing with it too. However it is risk, because if people is not interested in it, then is basically a downfall on there work.
ОтветитьI'm happy rewatching this video in 2023, especially given the recent popularity of Gundam: The Witch From Mercury showing mecha can still shine brightly in the modern anime landscape.
ОтветитьGiant Bender: “Bite my colossal metal ass”!
ОтветитьGrendizer U says hi
ОтветитьEvery year this video proven wrong
Ответитьwould like to see this revisited with the perspective of the 2020's, good vid
ОтветитьFreedom laugh at your video
ОтветитьI think I have an idea for an boost for this trend and it is kinda taken from Astro-boy.
Remember how Tezuka wrote that Astro was a sentient android? And didn't needed to be piloted by a human?
We should start making Mecha animes where the Mechs are actually giant sentient robots, every one of them have their own unique personality and were build by the humans to protect man kind. I don't know if an anime like this is already made, feel free to tell me, but wouldn't be cool for a show like this? I said the idea was kind of taken from Astro, but the idea's main inspiration is 'Super Giant Robot Brothers' - an underrated Netflix original. That show is literally half Mecha show, half Kaiju movie and a smidge of alien sci-fi mixed together and executed well and it's a NETFLIX ORIGINAL from the WEST. If an anime creator, who are into Mecha, gave a shiz about SGRB and looked into it, we might get the next Gundam or Evangelion. In fact - even got the damn idea of what if SGRB was a 2010 Mecha anime.
I believe It's time revive it even more(from what the resent comments had said about Mecha).
Naruto had some final battles that were sort've mech-ish
ОтветитьI don't know how we got from mecha to ww2 in seconds
Ответитьiron blooded orphans was my first gundam and it was fucking great. i am not gonan watch UC tho cus its too long but i plan to watch all the other gundam shows
Ответитьwhat songs did you use
Ответитьpeaceful times he said) and here I am in 2024 Russia saving myself in gundam series as old as me (best ones)
ОтветитьMecha was kind like a symbolism for Japanese society’s unrelenting endurance and stoicism, but as the modern generation becoming more aware of the endless rat race, they wanted to focus more on their own well being, the isekai genre that flourished during recent time is a good tell of the paradigm shift. People don’t want giant robots to save the day, perhaps all they want is a place they can feel happy.
ОтветитьWe need idol mecha group
ОтветитьGiant robots will rise again... because war is rising again...
ОтветитьNow that Love Live SIF2 just shut down, while Gundam is still as big as ever and Code Geass is coming back, this video is just really ironic, and funny.
ОтветитьYou are dead wrong about mechas fall it's still going
ОтветитьProbably my favorite anime analysis video to date. Awesome stuff :)
Ответитьfor me it started with the movie baldios, then anime series neo evangialeon...
ОтветитьWait wait wait, there were people who LIKED Gundam Seed?
ОтветитьBlud, you forgot the thing that started the decline of gundam. The worst gundam... THING. I present... G-SAVIOUR
Ответить2024 y yo creo que estamos en una buena época para el mecha, tras éxitos como la bruja de mercurio y muchos más animes, siento que todavia queda mucho más mecha al que darle amor.
ОтветитьThankfully, this video did not age very well.
ОтветитьThese industry breakdown videos are fantastic! I'm not saying your other stuff isn't. But these are really good for helping explain stuff to newer watchers.
ОтветитьAs much as i enjoy this video, i found it absolutely bizarre that the most well funded anime influencer of our time didn't mention the root cause of this decline: aging population in Japan turns the typical anime fan to be a early 40s dude who doesn't care mecha anymore.
ОтветитьYears later and still one of the best videos Gigguk ever made.
ОтветитьSo a battlemech is a different thing?
ОтветитьI'd be curious to hear your assessment of the last several years. Good video!
ОтветитьWe said "are fucking awesome" at the same time... nice.
Ответить-Where's Magic knight Rayearth? It's isekai magical girl mecha anime
-Nadesico?
-Is doraemon considered mecha?
I wished you talked about armored core but it's nice you brought up fang of the sun dugram
ОтветитьIronic to see this video in 2024 since mecha is becoming very popular again with Grendizer U, Gundam Witch, Bravern, Shinkalion, etc.
ОтветитьYou forgot Kaiju Raban.
ОтветитьMy favorite mecha anime of all time is gundam unicorn
ОтветитьYet nothing like gundam
