At 66 and disabled, I’m living life vicariously through you kid. Shared this with youngest son. He will have an associate degree in ministerial/religious studies. I think scones taste like a dried up biscuit. LOL

Wow beautiful beaches and sea

Hubby and I did this exact trip about 15 years ago. What an amazing sacred place. We stayed at the Argyll Hotel. We went to a west-facing beach and one local Scotsman asked us if we knew what was across the ocean from that spot, we couldn't guess. He said Canada! We are Canadian and he said he could tell by our accent. :)

I was there in mid-March. The weather was lovely for that time of year, unfortunately Cal-Mac was still operating to a winter timetable so didn't have much longer than an hour and half on the island, and a lot was still closed.

This looks like the kind of stunning weather we had in Kenmore and Pitlochry. I have been there when the weather has been a bit more miserable though, and on those days you understand why some people are keen to move away from Scotland. Not me though. I'm always thinking about moving up there permanently , one of these days.

Barra and Vatersay are my favourite Scottish islands for amazing beaches. Did like North Uist too, but anywhere on the outer hebredes is just seriously amazing!

What a beautiful place Ruth and Thank you for taking us there my husband is from Cape Breton Nova Scotia and there is also a place called Iona there, and a lot of other Scottish names are there to and there is the only scotch whiskey distillery outside of Scotland Thanks again for a lovely video Pauline from Blackpool living in Canada 🇨🇦

My children went to the island some years ago to experience the religious feel. They stayed at the "monastery" and had a very good time and experience.
