Film Breakdown: Tua Tagovailoa Looks GOOD in Return BUT it Still Wasn't Enough

Disappointing finish but was glad to see the offense look competent

A couple quick points while watching: I went to the game. The defense definitely let us down this game. Our LBs play entirely to soft. McDaniel play calling was great up to the last drive. Watching live really highlights how bad Eich is. Its really bad. JHill needs to be cut, not benched. There is nothing there. The refs truly impact the game in a negative way both ways. Seeing them live during TV timeouts it's obvious there is a real ref problem.

Tua looks good until he doesn't.😅

Dude, Tua lost this game just on the fumbles and mishandled snaps

Goal line fade is the least successful play across the NFL .... I truly don't understand why any team still uses that play

I realise that the channel's pov is to accentuate the positive, but I have to say that Tua missed a lot of reads. A lot. Completing an 11-yard pass is "good", but not when there was an obvious 25 yard pass iff if the same read. And if we marked McD's play calling out of 100, I don't see how he get nore than 60. Plus, the areas of failure were the same as the areas he has faiked many times before. Ah well. 👍🏻

Wright needs to be getting 10 touches a game. Not mostert. Love the guy but he needs to let the young bulls carry the run game and just be ready if they can’t go. McDaniel also needs to let Tua just drop back and play quarterback bc there way too much football not even utilized and with the type of talent on that team it’s unacceptable at this point. I also noticed a lot of these deep concepts have no checkdown with tyreek and waddle 30 yards down field doubled and triple teamed it’s just bad plays. With the RBs and Hill, Waddle, Jonnu and Beckham (who was open a lot) there’s no reason to be throwing fades to tyreek in the goal line. At least create some traffic out of bunch wr set or spread them out and let a guy win on a whip or slant or something. The decision making in these situations leaves a lot to be desired.

I know, I know ... I'm livin' in the past, but I remember the biggest thing about the Dolphins from 71-73: When they needed someone to make a big play, then someone did. That is not the case with the current iteration of the team. No one seems to make a play when the team needs it. They have playmakers, so I don't know what the problem is. Are they pressing? Is it scheme? Are there too many injuries? What do you think? BTW, I'm just not impressed with their defense. They were so much better under Flores, who had less talent than Weaver has.

The biggest play to me was the last play on offense. Tua's always had an issue hitting those open screens when he's being blitzes like that. All he has to do is float that ball up for the back to get under, and that play goes for a td, or at least a big gain, in my opinion. I thought he played well, and didn't look too rusty, but until they can stop beating themselves, they aren't going to win many games.

And I think Tua's great. Best they've had since Marino.

And Ramsey played out of his mind until Weaver stopped moving him around. Sheesh.

1 td is not gonna cut it. Defense is worst than last year. I forsee a search for a new DC in the offseason.

Winning in Buffalo next week makes so much sense actually... You get to beat them when it doesn't matter... Those burial grounds...

Miss tackles at key times and miscues, PENTALTIES all hurt the Dolphins with ALL OF THEIR LOSSES !!!

I noticed that in the comments everybody is blaming different players for the loss. I think everyone is right, so that means that this team sucks.

Nothing on this team looks sharp except maybe the left turn they made toward irrelevance.

1st game back Tua looked really good. Defense sure didn't.

The defense lost this game, not the offense. When you score 27 points you should win 95% of the time, so this was on the defense and they let Arizona waste the last 3min of the game and kick a short FG to win it. This was 100% defenses fault.

Murray would not have out tan chub, Phillips and Ramsey at the same time..
They would've flushed him out with a forced fumble or mis throw intercept

Mcdaniel called good plays until the last 2 drives ( some head scratchers). Doesnt surprise me tho. When the pressure is on our HC falters. I wonder why he says adversity brings opportunity. He def doesnt take advantage of his.
