I load the monthly $10 Dunkin credit onto my Dunkin app each month and then I don't lose them if I don't use them right away and can continue to rack them up until I want to use them. 😊
ОтветитьSurprisingly this change worked out better for me. I didn’t have a shake shack where I live, but I do have a five guys. And I live two minutes away from a Dunkin’ Donuts, which I do happen to go to every now and then.
ОтветитьI will cancel it.
ОтветитьDefinitely cancelling this card, AX is going to give me diabetes with dunkin credit.
Ответитьi have one credit card through chase my mom opened up for me back when i was a teen and have taken over since. but other than that, as much as i would love to be apart of the perks and rewards gang of AMEX, i really love not being in crippling debt. no school loans, no car loans a cool 790 credit score, i love seeing the offers but i just wont bite. Only risk i take on my wealth is through investments and i will keep it that way for as long as i live.
ОтветитьMy buddy recently got the gold. Sent this video his way!
ОтветитьI was considering this card but after this video is a no go… worthless card.
ОтветитьPeanut oil doesn't contain the protein that makes people have allergic reactions, so you could still do Burger Fi. My buddy is also allergic, and I looked into it. He's still alive.....i think.
ОтветитьIf the gold card doesn’t fit your lifestyle, just don’t get it! It’s that simple. There are so many other cards out there, just find the one that fits your lifestyle.
ОтветитьNah that Dunkin credit needs to switch to Starbucks 🤣
ОтветитьUS Bank altitude go card gets 4% at restaurants with no annual fee 😂 Amex really scamming out here
Ответитьseeing this right after I got the card....
ОтветитьI keep seeing just the 90,000 bonus. I’ve been debating the gold delta sky miles card it has an 80,000 mile sign on bonus with no annual fee the first year which seems incredible IMO
Ответитьive had the amex gold for about 8Y and its getting to the point im considering cancelling. They keep adding credits i dont use or have to alter my spending habits to meet or simply cant use like that resy credit. im also not eating out as much as i used to due to the rising costs of take-out and just trying to eat healthier at home. I feel like this card is great for a younger consumer of which, after almost a decade, im starting to not be anymore haha
Ответитьi have over 500k amex points, trying to figure out how to spend them.. then ditch the cards
ОтветитьI work graveyard shift and pick up breakfast in the morning on the way back home. Dunkin actually has some good breakfast options, so I am happy to buy a wrap once a month from there.
ОтветитьThe fact that they wouldn’t honor the $250 annual fee for long time members is embarrassing.
ОтветитьHonestly the Resy is a pretty welcome change. Twice a year is easy to hit even if onl when on o trip of some kind.
The $7 Dunkin' in what's strange as it doesn't feel like their target audience for their brond. Local shops are much better and fit the "shop small" brand, but that's all without whatever deal Dunkin' made.
What card do you get better than 3x on booking flights directly though the airline website? That seems like one of the biggest appeals to me
ОтветитьI would be very careful with AMEX cards. They are horrible when it comes to merchant disputes. They will always side with the merchants and deny you disputes.
ОтветитьI think I will cancel and get a useless credit on a Schwab debit card.
ОтветитьI'm confused about the resy credit. Do you need to actually use the resy app in order to get the credit? Or is it as simple as just paying with the card at restaurants that are on it?
ОтветитьYeah hell nah ima switch to chase I believe
ОтветитьI use the Ubereats credit and Grubhub credits to order take out and save $10 twice a month religiously
ОтветитьI cancelled my card last year when the annual fee was to go up to $250. I had been a member since 1977. The gold card soon after had so many perks. Over the years the perks were cancelled. In 2023 there were no perks, yet they were to increase the annual fee to $250. I cancelled, I did not want to get another type of Amex card - because I know the game they are playing. Amex is not accepted everywhere. I do not miss the Amex card at all. I must admit that the customer service is very very good.
ОтветитьWow, more of useless BS and higher fee. Canceling this, enough.
ОтветитьIf you dont spend $6000 a year on nonsense dont get this card.
ОтветитьI called Amex and asked for a retention offer to stay with the gold, but paying the 250 for this year. For the next cycle I think I’ll be considering other Amex options.
ОтветитьWow, I'm glad I saw this. I paid $250 ~2 months ago. I'm setting up a reminder to cancel the card next year.
ОтветитьDunkin' is quite extensive overseas. Wonder if it works overseas.
ОтветитьYeah, I passed on the Amex gold. I’m not their targeted audience. I don’t have a five guys or resy restaurant nearby. I live in a city where there’s no Uber or a need for it.
ОтветитьI can vouch for the Resy credit. A couple weeks ago I went to a really nice restaurant in Los Angeles named Planta. I paid with Amex at the end (spent about $60) Sure enough, I got the $50 credit on my statement a few days later. I made sure to double check the restaurant was listed on Resy. I will definitely be using this perk, plus the Uber Eats, and Grubhub. I never go to Dunkon but now I'll make sure to stop by Dunkin once a month tol. Thats $424 in value, which makes it worth the annual fee for me.
ОтветитьI've been thinking about getting this card for a long time. But now that i decided i was gonna get it the new credits make it so unappealing. I CAN use all the credits but i'd be going out of my way to do so. I can go to five guys and dunkin, order uber eats, and use resy. But do i really wanna keep up with all that?
ОтветитьWhen do they charge for the annual fee after opening?
Ответитьi love your content and very insightful - however could you shed light on credit repair, services strategies etc.. all these credit card vids are great but mean nothing if someones credit is in the dumps ya feel me?
ОтветитьI am getting this card just because they sent me a 200,000 points offer…. I am going to try it out and see if it works for me after a year
ОтветитьAmex is a prestigious card. Those who own an Amex usually don’t eat Dunkin. Maybe Starbucks. I don’t know what Amex is thinking. They’re probably having self esteem issues.
ОтветитьIs the 20% in statement credits on restaurants in the first 6 months considered a SUB or just the 60/90 K points? I already have the platinum and ineligible for lower tier card SUBs.
ОтветитьCredits aren’t worth the cost of the card. 👎 The only one that I might have used is Resy but I have to travel to use it.
ОтветитьDear Daniel, I am a big fan of you. Currently I have Amex Gold and Bilt. Which other travel card would you recommend me to add? Amex platinum, Capital One or Chase? Thank you.
ОтветитьI never use uber but my son does. Can I get $10 uber gift cards each month and then send them to him in order to use the uber credit?
ОтветитьAMEX Fees are a SCAM!!!!!
ОтветитьThe Dunkin credits are so dumb.
ОтветитьI’m in that extra year bucket… so have some time to figure it out. Probably worth it for me. The Resy credit will apply places I go anyway. I use Grubhub and Uber regularly. It’s will pay off 100%.
ОтветитьToo bad you can't pay your mortgage with these cards
ОтветитьHey guys this might be a stupid question but iv really been wanting this card for a while but I want the limited time offer on spending 6k in the first 6 months. If put my lease and and car insurance to help me reach that limit faster, would that count as eligible purchases? Or would they not count that. Thank you for any tips or answers.
ОтветитьI really don’t understand why everyone is so down on this car post-update? Prior to the update you had to pay $10 to keep the card open. ($250 annual - $240 total credits = $10 net cost). Now you’re being paid to keep the card open, even if you don’t use the “pathetic Dunkin credit” while taking advantage of the Resy credit? $240 in Uber/Grub Hub/Five guys + new $100 Resy credit = $340, so you’re being paid $15 just to keep the card open with the $325 annual fee. That $15 becomes $15 + $84 = $99 if you take advantage of the Dunkin credit.
I’d rather make money to keep the card open than pay $10/year, so it’s better now than it was before
Hi Daniel, how do you plan to maximize the AMX Gold Card’s dining and travel benefits after these recent updates?
ОтветитьI downgraded and in a year, the green is also gone unless I get a good retention offer on Green or upgrade offer back to Gold.
