Ryzen 7 9700X vs Ryzen 7 7800X3D - Test in 10 Games

There's no reason not to choose the 7800X3D when playing games these days. It has excellent performance and energy savings.

I'm confused. how is the 9700x pulling more watts, but has lower temps? kinda goes against the laws of physics.

9700X, though only slightly better than the 7700X and slightly worse than the 7800X3D, is still pretty impressive and it costs much less

Sure the 7800X3D is better, but in Oceania region, the 9700X is only $600 NZD whereas the 7800X3D is priced $800+ ...

Lmao people think x3d better. 9700x have 32 mb l3 cache 7800xd have 96 mb l3 cache even with that there are roughly 10 fps difference avrg. And 9700x way much cheaper.

I see difference of 5-10 fps on average and the reason seems to be gpu bottlenecking more on the 9700x but can be freed to some extent with higher resolution. But out of games 9700x has higher benchmarks. So seems like i am going for the AUD 170 cheaper 9700x. Thank you for the video. Was searching for this exact comparison.

in my country right now 7800x3d is 110$ more expensive than 9700X, i wanted 7800x3d so badly, but decided to go with 9700X, absolutely worth it.
With 10$ price difference though i would prefer 7800x3d

Right now a 9700x costs around 370 euros in my country meanwhile people try to sell their used one year old 7800x3d for 500 and brand new from shop costs around 600 but only a few places sell them. Needless to say the 9800x3d is nonexistent and you can only get them from scalpers for 700-800 euro...

If we take the current price in to the consideration, i'd say 9700x is a winner. Not worth giving 200 euros more for the difference shown on here 😁

How come in the 7700x vs 9700x at same settings it got 117 in Starfield but here the 9700x is getting 126 fps??

Ok I'll volunteer to be the comments punching bag. Got myself the 9700x over the 7800x3d for the similar (and undeniably slightly less) performance, but with better daily driver specs. Especially for work, rendering, etc etc. seemed like the best path for me since my new rig won't strictly be just a gaming rig

Gaming isn't everything for some people. Ryzen 7 9700x is a better option for those who do work such as 3D rendering and video editing along with gaming.

Never understand why these tests are ran at 1080p for gaming. Realistic nobody who has either of these chips will run at 1080p. 1440p or 4k should be standard

Why is the CPU usage nearly through the roof in all of these tests. I built my AMD rig yesterday with the 4080 super and CPU usage is 50%+

I did my research and got to know everyone hates 9700x but i still got it and now i am realising it was one of the best decisions of my life 😂😂 cause i live in India and 9700x costs 340$ and 7800x3d costs 520$ 😂😂 just see the difference between these two cpus its just 20-30 fps more for 180$ more 😂😂

If properly tuned with a good ram tuning, this CPU probably matches 7800x3D in many games which is awesome

If you test CPUs why not make it 720p and all low settings to get the max fps so a CPU Bottleneck and not a GPU

It shows how little difference a CPU makes. Even on games where it looks like there's a difference on the FPS counter it still looks identical on screen.

Some claim they can tell the difference between 107fps and 117fps but I don't believe them. What matters is that the fps is stable. What we do notice is a drop in fps while we're playing. Better a rock solid 60fps than an 82fps that drops to 60 when the action starts IMO.

why all tests in 1080p!!!! Test at 2k for 2% difference and at 4k for same performance. No one who buys that chip for that kind of Money will be playing on 1080p monitors
