I say in the video the modeling is at solstice. It is of course the day before the solstice on the prime meridian, as is also indicated by the date time in the top left of the video.
What I meant to say is that it was sufficiently close to the solstice that the latitude of the subsolar point does not change significantly over the days the couple of days the data was collected. But I was trying too hard to keep the text short and clear.
I just wanted to mention that here, so you don't have to waste time commenting about it :)
Outstanding work again Michael! If you aren't already animating professionally you should be!
ОтветитьAmazing video, such a clear presentation of the results and their meaning.
ОтветитьAny plans to pull the camera location way back untill we can see the sun to scale? I feel a lot of flatties fail to understand how somewhat insignificant size of the earth in comparison. They get it completely backwards and rock a tiny sun as shown in most of their and even your animations. Sure our data wont look as pretty but maybe it's a worthwhile learning reference?
ОтветитьNicely done!
Plotting the real directions toward the sun on a flat earth map creates a huge mess.
I have a few videos on my channel showing just that.
As you so aptly put it: "Glorious!"
That is a work of art - and science, obviously.
Nice!
ОтветитьYou’ve got excellent animation skills. You also keep things short and to the point. I like. 👍
