On Friday evening, a special mission to be accomplished as the Talbot County Public Schools Education Foundation comes together for the eighth time to honor its most distinguished alumni to help raise funds for the needs of local students and teachers.
It has announced that the 2024 “Mission Possible – Celebrating TCPS Alumni and Supporting Teachers,” will be held on Friday, November 15 from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Oxford Community Center. Mrs. Eleanor “Tot” O’Mara, Easton High Class of 1967 and James Redman, retired TCPS Educator will serve as Mistress and Master of Ceremonies. The purpose of the event is to recognize TCPS Distinguished Alumni, celebrate Talbot County Public Education, and raise funds, awareness, and support for the Education Foundation.
The Spy talked to one of those honorees, Easton High School alum and current Talbot County Council Member Keasha Haythe, and TCPS's director of communications, Debbie Gardner, give provide some background to this important fundraiser and the need to close the gap every year between public funding and the actual needs of both students and teachers.
