Chicago will take longer than one thinks, as the residents are stubborn and hate change. esp. for the working class that have great intentions but never see the quick benefits of change as of the top tiers in the classes. The "el" is a great mass transit system for all the people, and making it an electric and solar generating trains will help immensely...A quiet MAGLEV train to replace the very loud diesel trains would make a HUGE impact on Chicago's atmosphere!! If China can do it all over its damn country, why are we not..? It is so damn foolish and directly a cause from the oil lobbyists. Solar panels on every home would be a massive progressive move all across this nation. We are so behind, yet the richest nation on Earth !!!
Ответить'Climate change' 😂🤣
ОтветитьDo a video of Panama city please
ОтветитьThis channel puts me in such a peaceful and interested mindset. I use your videos as an escape of reality after stressful tests or hours of studying. How the editing is done and how the information is expressed is elegant and graceful. I really love to see these videos! Thank you.
ОтветитьNuclear energy is clean wow what a fossil fuel.
ОтветитьAm black but the reason i prefer Trump’s decision to withdraw from Climate Change accord us that, the US will strictly follow their own plans of energy efficiency like this one. And also act on a responsible manner to fight climate change. Look at the rest of the world still haven’t taken any action yet, instead they’re still talking and blaming Trump for his decision three years later. Action is what matters, and Trump is doing his job.
ОтветитьI love all of B1Ms videos but this one really sticks out to me personally. I'd love more videos on sustainable city planning!!
ОтветитьChicago never has to even worry about sea level rise. This shows how progressive the city is. Chicago will become the dominant U.S. city in a few hundred years when New York and LA have to be abandoned.
ОтветитьWhile not as fast philadelphia is defidently working on this they have more green space then most if not all american cities trees line all of the streets we are replacing sewer grates with planters to absorb greenhouse gases make the city cleaner and control runoff into the sewers houses are installing solar panels like crazy houses have green roofs so do skyscrapers the city is more dependent on public transport and pedestrian paths then cars (for the most part) most houses are using planters to contain runoff for use throughout the house are to control runoff in general old unused railways running above the city are being turned into parks new projects include green space and concrete curbs in the middle of roads are being used as planters I'd say philly is leading the green city thing in the Eastern part of the u.s
ОтветитьNow America's Third largest city, still the most beautiful!!
ОтветитьLol no such thing
ОтветитьI'm from Chicago andlittle known fact Chicago is called the Windy City not because it's windy but because a reporter called it's politicians a bunch of windbags that aught to tell you something about the city's grand proposals and promises
ОтветитьNeed to get rid of chemtrails or all of this is a waste.
ОтветитьOMG. WE’RE ALL GOING TO DIE IN 11YEARS DUE TO GLOBAL WARMING ! Unless of course if you have been smart enough to do just a bit of research on your own through the internet, the you already know there is no such thing as global warming !
Ответитьhow are they leading the fight when chicago is the leading users of natural gas and coal?
ОтветитьChicago is definitely doing its part! The 500 people shot and killed in 2019 will no longer be polluting! It's a green miracle!
ОтветитьChicago looks like a city in another country with its clean aesthetic and natural beauty...
ОтветитьThis video just made me love this city so much more
ОтветитьLike it or not this video perfectly demonstrates why the Paris Climate Agreement was completely fucking useless. You don't need a fancy piece of paper to tell you to make change. Cities, states, and countries can and will do it on their own.
ОтветитьChicago will be a sort safe haven against climate change/ natural disasters in the near future. Chicago & the Great Lakes region has unobstructed access to fresh water & Chicago is in between two of America’s major navigable water ways the Mississippi River & Lake Michigan. Also Chicago doesn’t have to worry about earthquakes, tsunamis or hurricanes. It would be smart for Americans to move here before it gets expensive.
Ответить@UCU3hXqNdligT_Sy4OKeWS0Q Do you think laws are bad? Do you think police officers & judges are bad? See: I can shove pointlessly idiotic generalities into your face, too.
ОтветитьAnd solar and wind power are even safer. Yes, EVERYTHING has negatives & positives. But with the positives of solar & wind power outweighing the negatives by a MUCH greater amount than nuclear power, there exists NO logical reason NOT to put all our efforts into building as many DECENTRALIZED solar & wind farms until the materials to create them run out before spending INSANELY ENORMOUS amounts of money building a MASSIVELY expensive CENTRALIZED nuclear power plant.
ОтветитьSo where are all the conservatives antiglobalists screaming against global action during this coronavirus? According to antiglobalists, global government action is NEVER justified. They look ONLY at the NEGATIVES of government action - restrictions on freedoms - and then conclude "not justified". But then the conservative antiglobalists are NEVER EVER consistent with it: demanding globalist action against pedophiles or rapists or terrorists or the coronavirus.
You CAN be consistent by NOT categorically saying "globalism is bad" or "globalism is unjustified", and then stating: for this situation, globalist action to fight problem X is unjustified.
@UCScJSdP4atWZLhMODnfyezw Bullshit. Which bureaucracies exactly? The one-sidedness is on the part of conservatives who will not even recognize the serious threat of AGW & the fact that the USA has forced MOST of the CO2, produced by humans since the start of the industrial revolution, and thus FORCED MOST of the manmade global warming onto the young & poor, and therefore the USA SHOULD make most of the sacrifices to clean up a mess that the USA MOSTLY caused.
ОтветитьI Love Chicago!
ОтветитьSo you missed Los Angeles and it's remarkable improvement? Not from there (I'm from NORCAL) but they deserve a look.
ОтветитьThat's my city :))))))
ОтветитьI am north of Chicago in IL and got my solar panels. Very proud of the city taking this initiative... Now we have to tame the rona and make the city safer!
ОтветитьA trumpiest will come here and make a comment about the South Side and how dangerous it is even though they have never been here in this beautiful city!
ОтветитьProblem with Chicago is I doubt and as someone who lives in the city can say I doubt we will make this goal 1. Its too pricey for a city that is bankrupt thru poor management. 2. No one really talks about the wind farm in Lake Michigan because three of four states say its a boondoggle ready to fail. 3. The people who can afford solar panels in the end are usually folks who have the disposable income to do so landlords and homeowners in Chicago barely have enough to make the property tax deadline. 4. They're closing the nuclear power plant that supplies most of our city's and regional power and the problem with that is renewable energy like solar and wind suck during harsh elements in this region. 5. People are already moving out of the region and because of COVID they're moving to areas with wide open spaces reason why the sun belt year after year sees massive population jumps while Chicago drops in population. Many more reasons to put but I know for a fact Chicago won't make that deadline without going broke.
Ответитьyes these belching metropolises of corruption are shining examples for us all
ОтветитьChicago has been my home for last 15 years. Love this video on how our city is combating climate change. Great Video B1M. As an engineer, i just love your channel <3
ОтветитьThat's fantastic, Chicago. Now could you stop flushing sewage into the lake?
ОтветитьAs a Chicago resident, I was unaware that we were doing any of this. Please, let's get this city's car-dependency down and breath some fresher air, it's overdue. I'm hopeful, but worried how many of these promises will actually happen.
ОтветитьUSA is love
ОтветитьAnd it’s growing larger as new skyscrapers are proposed and under construction now. Chicago looks different every 3 years, as construction continues.
ОтветитьExcellent video!! It's refreshing to see Chicago officials understand that the climate actions requires a much broader action plan than just increasing renewable energy production.
ОтветитьForce solar cells on all roofs and side glass/stone wall areas
ОтветитьClimate change is connected to population reduction By 2030 the population must be reduced and furthermore by 2045
ОтветитьChicago is America's greatest city by any measurable metric. Architecture, skyline, cleanliness, design and layout, best beaches in summer, and best damn food.
ОтветитьFinally Chicago is leading the country in something i’m happy to see it
ОтветитьLol, that’s the funnest thing I’ve heard in awhile
ОтветитьLess green space in Chicago than ever. Except in rich areas. Obama's library is being built on one of the few south side parks. Rat infested as well.Democrats only say they believe in things for naive people's votes.
ОтветитьWe actually have gotten a shorter winters since the 80s like it use to snow in November and now barely snows in January
ОтветитьChicago Illinois? REALLY?
Ответитьsince when?
ОтветитьLeading the fight against something that does not exist.
ОтветитьShish kebab.
Shawshank Redemption.
CHI-CA-GO!!!
