When will people understand that just because something is called a “disorder” doesn’t make it NOT a diability…? I’m seeing these comments and wondering how many brain cells do people actually have? it’s not either or y’all.. if anything, a disorder, ESPECIALLY psychiatric, is most likely always going to be something that disables your daily functioning.. people think that a disability is only a title, forgetting the actual CONCEPT of it and the reason it came to be a title to begin with.. and just because some disorders aren’t considered “disability” legally by the state you live in, doesn’t mean it’s not a disability, it just means the state doesn’t understand it yet.

People are stupid like wtf. And then act all knowing in the comments. A disability is not a type of disease, it can be anything affecting your functioning, you quality of life. Law can also “decide” what is considered a disability by default for multiple reasons. PTSD can be a disability and it has been for MANY MANY people. Same with Tourette. A known illness, a syndrom, acquired or from birth, mental illness whatever. The same issue can be disabling for someone, and not for someone else. Tourette and PTSD are great examples of that.

OMFGGGG, as someone with multiple disorders, THEY ARE DISABILITIES!!! I'm not able to do somethings because of my autism or my C-PTSD, calm down! I am disabled, because I have mental disorders!! Those count as disabilites!! Because a disability is being unable to do something a normal person would be able to do. For example, Ariana grande may not be able to go to certain places because she could have a PTSD attack (ik it has a different name, don't come for me) and Billie Eilish may not be able to sit still like a normal person because of her Tourette's. Those are disabilities.
