It's strange. I've seen a few reviews of this film, and they've mentioned about the relationship being awkward etc, yet at the time there was absolutely nothing said about it. Maybe viewers now see things differently, whereas people just took it as face value and didn't overanalyse. In this case they just took Tom Hanks' character as being a 30 year old man. It's not as it a relationship between a mature woman and a 30 year old man who'd been turned into a 13 year old would be less strange.

Wow... After all of these years... I've never seen the extended (directors cut) Alot of these scenes are brand new to me... But as exciting as they are, I can see why they cut some of them out. Great to see your reaction to this nostalgic classic, Dasha!

Big will always be among my most favorite movie. I was 10 and it was the first time I payed for my dad to go out.

It was also a time my dad locked his Keyes in the car. So it was the first time I saw my dad as human.

This movie pairs with 'Elf' perfectly. They have the exact same vibe about them. And incredible performances.

I always loved Bachelor Party and the Man With One Red Shoe in the 80s. It was only a few years ago that I saw Every Time We Say Goodbye, his first dramatic film, which I really enjoyed. I was around Josh's age when this came out and remember seeing it a couple of times in the theater.

Interesting , you watched a special edition (extended) or something, lots of footage that was not originally in the film.

Good that 90% of comments are pointing out that Tom Hanks was a comedy actor, just in case anyone missed it.

Would I want to go back to being 13 again? No way!! Maybe 17, but I think 21 would be about the best time.

Though I wasn't as old as the characters in this film at the time (I was about 19 I think) I took a girl to a movie and afterward we sat in the back of my car coloring in coloring books and talking. A kind of young at heart kind of follow up to the movie we just watched.

As for this film, I was 13 when it came out so I was the perfect age for it I think.

If you like young Tom Hanks comedies, The Money Pit has one of the funniest scenes I've ever seen in it. Classic Hanks physical comedy before he got all "actor-y" :)

Dasha, you HAVE to see his movies Splash, (and of course) Toy Story (1-4), Bachelor Party and The Man with One Red Shoe, all of which are hilarious and VERY well done. I honestly haven't cared too much about his acting since he turned serious. Sure, there are a couple that I liked seeing ... ONCE ... but don't really care to see them again. The ones I mentioned though are zany, hilarious, unique ones you can see over and over and still double-up laughing.

I have to be honest. as a young teen getting with an older woman is amazing. At least from my standpoint is was. I'm sure there are negative effects on other people in my situation, but I think a lot of it is motivated by attention and money because me and friends I had when I was 13, 14, would absolutely partake again :)

This is a very good movie. But Tom Hanks is a bad man. He is a pedophile and involved in child trafficking. pure evil. He has been to Jeffrey Epstein's island.

**FYI.... The forecasting and Pre-analysing completely ruins the experience of watching your Reaction... Its 100x better to Allow the movie to Happen first Before giving your Opinion. Otherwise it just becomes Super Annoying with no entertainment value.......***

Have loved this movie for so long and never seen the extended version - so many scenes I had never seen until this reaction! Also, for any Magic: The Gathering fans, there is a card called 'Titan of Industry' that is just a big building and every time I see it I think of Josh in the meeting: "What's fun about playing with a building?!"

The scene where he makes the wish is filmed at Rye Playland in New York. It was also in the sandlot when they went on the ride. I grew up right by it. It's a great little theme park ❤

A young mother buys 2 talismans from a rabbi to ward off every succubus; 30 years later the 2 brothers are still prepubescent, but the 30 year old brother had rapidly aged from a young looking boy to a wrinkled old man with the body of a boy and he dies,
So then the 25 year old man who looks like a boy still throws away the rabbi's succubus ward and curses it.
Then he has 13 years worth of wet dreams in one night and be ones a 25 year old looking 25 year old,
But also he wakes up and meets his spirit wife who looks like a victorian era woman with a tiny corset and a giant bustle, except underneath she matches her clothes and doesn't need the bustle or corset.⌛

Then he gets chased out of the house by his confused mother

Then the man-boy and his succubus go on adventures together and she acts as a deus ex machina to solve all his problems because only he can see her unless they are dreaming.

I was 11 when this came out. Saw it in the theater. Was supposed to be seeing something else, Mac and Me I think, but snuck into this movie instead. I didn't get all the adult themes, at the time, but I loved the movie. I didn't realize, at the time, how much I wanted to be Elizabeth Perkins, or that my perfect Tom Hanks would be a Madison. I still love this movie so much, all these years later!

The best Tom Hanks comedy in my opinion is 'The man with one red shoe'
It launched his career and makes fun of the CIA. ♡
