Roman Catholicism actually did the same thing by using only Latin for all services and of course using only Latin. Forbidding any other translation in order to control a mostly illiterate people. One thing that Catholics and Muslims share in common

This is the problem with so many of the divine claims of the quran and it's credibility are dependent on knowing arabic. Even though christian scholars do the same with greek and hebrew, the power of their religion is in the story (Life, death, alleged resurrection of jesus) and not in the language it was written. Unlike in Islam which requires a high level of Arabic for not just translation but theological reasons. I am becoming more convinced by the day Islam was intended for arabs only. The Quran itself seems to indicate this when it says it was revealed to the people (arabs) who had not yet received a revelation revealed in "clear" arabic.

No prophet spoke Persian, they spoke Hebrew and Arabic.

Rather ask the question, what is purpose of war, the purpose of terrorism, the purpose of hatred and antagonism? It is all religious based. Jesus Christ never killed anybody but healed many, He is the Word of God, while satan is defined in Mathew chapter 16 and Revelation chapter 13, what is the purpose of satan. He is the destroyer of human life and we see it happening globally!!

Hmm. If Allah understands all languages, why do non-Arab scholars always boast Arabic words and make Ha and Ain sounds while speaking English and wearing a Saudi thobe dress? Was our prophet a Saudi? Not, right? So why do you (Dr. Shabir Aly) always wear a thobe while you are certainly not an Arab?

I remember a brother telling me that I needed to learn Arabic because that was what was spoken in heaven. I asked him if I was fortunate enough to make it to heaven would I not be able to understand anything or anyone not be able to understand me. He said that would not be the case at all, so my defiant self said it was not really necessary then. I do wish I was capable of learning it. I butcher English, and cannot retain even similar languages.

Speaking only for myself, I have decided that at least one of my prayers each day needs to be in Arabic. In English I can be more reflective and considered in my prayer, but its probably about time that I at least learn basic prayer in the original Arabic. FWIW.

In the Prophet Mohummed pbuh is an example for us. He spoke Arabic

This is exactly why Islam is not the religion for the whole world. No non Arabic speaker could ever truly understand the Koran. I’ve been told manny time by Muslims that my translated version of the Koran is no sufficient… even though it was obtained in Saudi Arabia. Islam is not the religion for the world.

That's a good analysis. However, I've been observing salat in my native tongue for years. And I feel the connection more dearly.

English is not my native language. But will native English speakers have an advantage over me later in my professional life? Not necessarily. I can learn the English language and non-native English speakers can speak understand English better than native English speakers. So why is it any different from Arabic? I am a non-Arab and Arabic is not my native language. If I want to know something in Arabic, I will learn Arabic. Allah grants us with the ability and the faculty to learn. And I have never considered Arabs to be superior to me or otherwise just because they know Arabic. In fact the process of learning Arabic to understand the Quran deeply is very rewarding and satisfying. Allah knows best.

Jesus Christ is the One and the Only true God.. Anyone who rejects it will not be in paradise

Arabic is not required to access God. Pray in your own language so you truly immerse yourself. God understands all languages even thoughts that one doesn't have the words to convey.

Ataturk the founder of Modern day Turkey once said if Allah only understands Arabic he is not fit to be Worshiped
He also removed the Arabic Script from the Koran and replaced it Turkish

I first learned about Islam through Let the Quran Speak. I still read the Quran using transliteration and read the interpretation thereafter. I first prayed using iPod reciting verbatim what uttered by the reciters from YT. Its getting better and easier over time. Don’t feel disheartened. If its too difficult, take a deep breath and try again. Thank you Dr Shabir Ally for the inspiration. I still remembered when Dr Saffiyah left Canada for a while to pursue her PhD and Khadijah took over for a while. How time flies. Best wishes to both of you.

Although God is so powerful but he/she is dependent on a language (Arabic) developed by non-beliver psgens! Ha, what an irony!

Problem is not Arabic Language, rather, the development and promotion of the Arabic language..In spite of a strong passion and desire of the non-arabic folks to acquire the knowledge, skills and proficiency, the tools to learn the language are not uniform and scattered making hard to adapt or learn without struggles.
The solution is to have authenticated institutes teach and promote the language with uniform accent, pronunciations, and approach. Unfortunately, all the so called Arabic speaking countries have failed in the development and promotion of the language and the Arabic writing script.

This should be addressed by a arab scholar.

There have been three Persian-speaking Messengers in history. The world is getting to know them more and more as the years go by. They are Zoroaster, the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh. The latter is the Founder of the Bahá’í Faith.

Al Fatiha is no more Al Fatiha in translation. And the Quran is no more the Quran when translated. Without the Fatiha the prayer has no meaning. You ceases to be in the umma of Prophet Muhammed s.a.s

I have heard that Mecca is the center of the world geographically, or scientifically it may be the center of the gravity. I'm not sure how accurate this is, but roughly is obvious that the Middle East is located between the three blocs of Africa , Europe and Asia. If one wants to check that more precisely, a plywood or cardbord can be cut into a globe shape, try to find a suspension point that will keep it balanced. Also. I suggest another reason which is the Middle East is kind of racial mix. Finally the language, Arabic, is very big and strong. I have heard that Arabic is biger than its people and their civilization. So even it is wonder how it had developed to that level

I’ve been told that if I don’t pray in Arabic that it’s not valid because it’s not a true recitation, that gets really frustrating to the point of crying that I’m considered invalid in prayer for wanting to have true intention in my words in English rather than to blindly recite foreign words I don’t understand. This helped me a lot as I’m getting ready for my first Ramadan.
